Japan Household Spending Slides 1.1% On Year In May
The average of household spending in Japan was down 1.1 percent on year in May, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications said on Friday - standing at 281,827 yen. That missed forecasts for an increase of 1.4 percent following the 0.4 percent decline in April. The average of monthly income per household stood at 426,805 yen, down 0.3 percent on year, the ministry said, while the average of consumption expenditures per household was 306,721 yen, down an annual 2.8 percent.
