Canada's exports declined 3.6% in August while imports edged up 0.2%. Export prices fell 3.0% and volumes 0.6%. For imports, prices were up 0.3% while volumes edged down 0.1%. As a result, Canada's merchandise trade deficit with the world widened from $817 million in July to $2.5 billion in August.
