Fed’s Williams: Rate Rise By Year’s End Still Remains Likely
The first Federal Reserve official to speak in the wake of this week’s central bank monetary policy meeting said Friday he is still in favor of raising rates at some point this year. “I still believe this will be the year for liftoff, and I still believe that waiting too long to raise rates poses its own risks,” Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco President John Williams said in the text of remarks to be delivered in a hometown speech.
