German consumer prices in January 2015: expected decline of ‑0.3% on January 2014
The inflation rate in Germany as measured by the consumer price index is expected to be -0.3% in January 2015. A negative inflation rate was last measured in September 2009 (‑0.2%). Based on the results available so far, the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis) also reports that the consumer prices are expected to decline by 1.0% on December 2014. Excluding food and energy, consumer prices are expected to increase by 1.1% year on year. The harmonised consumer price index for Germany, which is calculated for European purposes, is expected to decline by 0.5% in January 2015 on the same month a year earlier. It is ... (full story)
