Preview: UK retail sales to pick up pace at Q2 end
by Vladimir Harman WBP Online correspondent in London London - Record deflation in UK shop prices, as reported by the British Retail Consortium (BRC), and the price war being waged among UK supermarkets, should offer consumers some boost to keep sales volumes rising tentatively in June. Even the blip in the official CPI data showing a sudden spike in June to a rate of 1.9% is seen as only temporary, partly due to the later timing of summer sales this year compared to the previous year.
