GBP/USD and EUR/USD to Fall After Interest-Rate Announcements
The Bank of England (BOE) and the European Central Bank (ECB) are expected to cut interest rates when they meet on Thursday. The BOE is expected to cut rates from 1.00 percent to 0.50 percent, and the ECB is expected to cut rates from 2.00 percent to 1.50 percent. Here's the thing, many traders out there believe that the British pound (GBP) and the euro (EUR) are going to increase in value compared to the U.S. dollar (USD) and other currencies when these interest-rate cuts are announced. Don't count on it.
