Apple Ex-Corporate Law Chief Admits Years of Insider Trading (2)

The Apple Inc. lawyer who was once responsible for enforcing the company’s insider trading policy admitted he used his access to draft SEC filings to personally profit.

Gene Levoff, Apple’s former director of corporate law, pleaded guilty on Thursday to six counts of securities fraud between 2011 and 2016. Levoff, 48, was co-chairman of the company’s disclosure committee, which allowed him to see Apple’s revenue and earnings statements before they were filed with the <-bsp-bb-link state="{"bbHref":"bbg://securities/13165Z%20US%20Equity","_id":"00000181-b68f-d5b2-a381-b6df5b150001","_type":"0000016b-944a-dc2b-ab6b-d57ba1cc0000"}">Securities and Exchange Commission.
