Household consumption of goods decreased in October 2023 (-0.9%)
In October 2023, household consumption expenditure on goods went down compared to the previous month (-0.9% in volume* after +0.0% in September 2023 – revised data). Food consumption fell back (-1.5% after +1.2% in September) and energy consumption was down again (-2.5% after -1.3%). Conversely, consumption of manufactured goods rebounded (+0.4% after -0.4%). In October 2023, household food consumption fell sharply, wiping out the September rebound (-1.5% after +1.2%).
