In September 2023, consumer prices increased by 4.9% year on year
Over a year, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) should rise by 4.9% in September 2023, as in the previous month, according to the provisional estimate made at the end of the month. The year-on-year slowdown in the prices of food, services and manufactured products, should indeed be compensated by the acceleration in energy prices, due to the rebound in those of petroleum products. Over one month, consumer prices should fall back by 0.5% in September 2023, after +1.0% in August.
