Household consumption of goods increased by 0.9% in June 2023
In June 2023, household consumption expenditures in goods increased by 0.9% over a month in volume* after a +0.6% in May 2023 –revised data. This growth in June is mainly explained by the partial rebound in food consumption (+2.5%). The consumption of engineered goods was virtually stable (‑0.1%), as was the energy consumption (+0.1%). For the second quarter of 2023 as a whole, household consumption of goods decreased by 0.7% compared to that of the first quarter of 2023.In June 2023, household food consumption increased sharply (+2.5% after +0.3%).
