eurgbp, eurusd, gbpjpy hit targets pretty nicely about an hour ago.
But just got smacked on USDJPY & EURJPY this hour.
Anyone else get hit?

Also im finding it difficult to close 80% of the lot with a Fixed TP and having a Fixed SL and letting the 20% lot run.
Anytime i double click on the Size in Open Orders, it doesn't really let me change Volume with a TP limit.
Any ideas on how to confirm this?

Interesting to look at how the day developed on your EG. Did you stay in it for part and catch the eventual predicted drop?

I've marked up the first entry and also how someone playing the day could have bagged big on the reverse trade back up, then potentially adding a third and a fourth trade to really milk it...

Right, winding up The Weird Bunch.

A day when it didn't pay to be greedy. Bagging your +5 would have been achievable on all trades but if you'd hung on too long, you'd have suffered many blows to the head. The 100 brought in the biggest haul, followed by the DAX.

F40 wasn't too bad either, though it opened and closed all in the same bar. Sticking with it would have then brought a great long trade back up.

First chart shows the original moves. Second as things played out till the day's end...

EJ slapped me around a bit. Not actually here on 1-2-3 set-ups but over on one of my other methods (scalping). I ended up only one trade negative but it was hard enough work that it was obvious I wasn't going to be getting in on any 1-2-3 there at the same time.

The GN I mentioned hit me with a loss of -13, then back in for an immediate recovery to get me flat over the two. I let it run to bag me another +5 and moved my hard-stop up to close the full lot size at that level (which it did, not too much later).

5 hrs or so ago, the same thing again happened and anyone in would have had a first loss but a recovery on the second.

GN is a bit mad at the best of times and today did nothing to change that impression.

Yeah, UJ was up to mischief all right. On a mission to give a right good slapping, more like, lol. Sometimes you've just got to take it on the chin.

Here's how things are looking just now. There may actually be an opportunity brewing for a return trip now. Any takers?

Some brokers can be annoying with this.

I take it you have been doing this: https://www.ea-coder.com/forex-parti...and-automated/

If you Google this ''how to close partial lot size in mt4'' you will be given a selection of different strategies to try. I'll let you do the legwork .

Alternatively, if all else fails, I have a Trade-Manager EA kicking around somewhere which can be set to do this for you. I'm sure someone else on here has had a look at it too, if memory serves me right.

There is another way to handle it - one which is actually the simplest in its execution - that I will use. One that harks back to ''ye olden days''. You open two trades. One at 20% lot-size and the other at 80%. Close the 80% one at your first tp mark and let the 20% one go on to do its thing. You are obviously dealing with two spread costs and I suppose it's only for those of us lucky enough to have brokers with tiny spreads but it's an option.

Makes alot of sense. But seems as if its portion based so it wouldn't make it a huge deal.
I'm currently using JFD brokers, anyone have a better one they use with this strategy?

I wasn't paying a lot of attention to these trades today. Complacency I guess. That EG I was in at one time was up around +20 after I had taken profit but it eventually stopped out to my original as I did not switch to a trailer. I remember seeing the low bar form indicating a reversal trade could have been takne on the elevator going up. And indeed that one would have produced about 40 pips.

EG was the superstar for the day i guess?
I'm running the 20% residual.

Still waiting on CADJPY to make up its mind for the last several hours lol

You'd need to ask the other US traders that - but I do like JFD, I must admit. Certainly far from the worst.

Ha ha - I saw that CJ but I've had my fill of JPY pairs today, lol.
