Hi Alan,
sorry theat it took so long.

I just find one more file from MT4\logs. In the other folder: MT4\mql4\Logs is only one log 20170219, no older ones??!!
MT4\mql4\\Experts has no lod. folder....

But it happend again with GBPAUD on Frieday 17th, Retail Sales. Here I found all 4 logs .

MT4 removes older logs by itself.

I had a look at the logs. To be fair, you were only stopped out by about 3 pips. But you are using a volatile pair such as GBPAUD with 5 pips Pointsaway and 5 pips Stop Loss. Of course you will be stopped out. The spread only has to go over 10 pips which is quite likely on GBPAUD. Did you see that the currency didn't really move for about 30 seconds? Eventually it went down and you would have had a winning trade. You just need to be less aggressive with your Pointsaway and SL.

So whatever you would use for GBPUSD, you should double for a pair like GBPAUD or GBPCAD.

Remember, the idea of Pointsaway is to stop your trade activating too early or in the wrong direction. And the SL is supposed to only activate when the trade goes the wrong way, so on GBPAUD, 20 pips SL should be a minimum.

OK I can do that but it's not a small fix. I implemented that change in the AmazingFiboEA so the advantage is I've written the code already.

So it will take me a few days to get round to it.

In order for it to be reliable I have to change the Magic Number from the random number that it is now to one that is fixed for that news event, which will mean you can't run the EA twice for the same news and same currency pair. I don't think that will cause anybody any issues - if it does, please let me know!

Hey, Great Question

Set 'Exclude Speeches'=False. Forex Factory normally puts 'Fed Yellen Speaks' or similar, and the EA searches for the word 'Speaks' and uses that for the filter.
Actually they made a mistake last week and put 'Fed Yellen Testifies' but soon changed it.

Simple as that.

Thank you so much for fast answer. But I don't understand how it works. For example, I was put new event to CSV file with differnt set ups.

What you did looks correct. If the EA fails to show the correct Line Number of the CSV file, it might be because you have the file open in Excel. I have fixed that issue in the latest development version of the EA that I will publish soon.

So the best thing is to finish editing and saving the file in Excel, then close Excel and/or any other editors you use for the Settings file, then restart the EA to pickup the changes. Don't forget to set AllowBuys and AllowSells to TRUE.

If you are still unsure why it's not working then zip the file and upload it to the thread and I'll take a look at it.

Slight Update to calculation for name of Calendar.xml file
Recheck Next Event Time and Forex Factory Calendar every 60 minutes (except during STWAN)
Update Display to show when the Next Calendar check will take place

This release rechecks the Forex Factory calendar every 60 minutes for updates and changes to the News schedule. It's not configurable as I wanted to strike a balance between keeping up-to-date and too much time/effort expended on it.

I've also sorted out a few situations where the News time could show all Zeros. And in the last couple of versions I've sorted File Sharing issues with Excel and MT4 in case you have the Settings.csv file opened in Excel.

I advise all users to upgrade to this version.

Hi Alan,
last week I was trading with the EA on my live account for the first time, the moths ago I traded on the demo.
So, now have a slippage (never had on demo) on every trade of 5-10 Pips an even higher... specially on USDCAD / GBPCAD

Is a slippage of this high normal during news time? Only 1 trade out of ten has a positiv slippage...

Hi Chris, I've had much higher slippage on USDCAD before (30 or 40 pips) so it depends if this is good or bad. If it's only 5-10 pips consistently that may not be too much of an issue. Secondly, you should look at the Ticks logfile and look at what the price has done. An example one from BOC Rate Decision:-

Let say your Buy Order was at 1.33120 then yellow highlight would activate the order and the green or blue price would have been the actual price you got.

For green the slippage would be 1.33151 -1.33120 = 31 points or 3.1 pips. For Blue the slippage would be 1.33143 -1.33120 = 23 points or 2.3 pips

Have a look at your files and the other logs to check what is happening in your case

Hi Alan, thanks for your last help :-)

I´ve just traded GBP ->Official Bank Rate. How can it happens that my sell stop is above my buy stop when price increases and the opposite, buy stop under my sell stop, when the price decreases? Can it happens when the price increases while the aks price stays stabil because of decreasing spread?

And is it possible to trade some seconds later, so I have
NYear - 0
NMonth - 0
NDay - 0
NHour - 0
NMin - 0
NSec- 7 for ex.

I installed AmazingEA and AmazingFiboEA on my demo account. I am using AXITrader. The EA is triggering multiple orders. How do we see to it that the EA will just order one once?

Hi Alan, Tick Data Suite can make backteting possible with tick data and variable spreads. Could you find a way for backtesting this EA by any chance?

It's a change I can make. I actually did it in my other AmazingFiboEA system. In never did it with this EA because if it's triggering early, it's a sign that your Pointsaway settings may be too tight, or your SL too tight or both.

I'll look into making an update.

It's tricky to backtest as you know because the MT4 backtester only applies Open, High, Low and Close data at one minute intervals. The default is to use fixed spread and 'pretend' ticks that fill in the Highs and Lows - not like the real market at all.

I've used Forex Tester and Tick Data Suite for other backtests and I think if you are taking trades exactly after a 5 minute candle then this will be reasonably realistic, but not with Pending Orders that could be triggered at any time. It's just not realistic. The only way is to forward test. Unless Metaquotes change the backtest system of course to make it more 'realistic'.

Hi Alan - have been using Amazing EA on demo for a while now.Initially all was fine with trades being made but I seem to have had a few problems recently.Today for example I attached the EA to AUD/NZD for the NZD CPI figures.Sure enough immediately before the news Amazing EA placed pending orders.News released resulting in a large immediate 40 pip movement.For some reason Amazing EA cancelled the order ? ive attached the log for you to take a look at.

In your post, it didn't cancel the order fro AUDNZD. Looks like it was closed due to SL. This can happen when the broker spikes the spread so much that the Ask price takes out the SL (in your case 1.07065) So the chart shows the Bid price going straight down but not the Ask.

Thanks for your prompt reply Alan - i'm fairly new to all of this and its one heck of a steep learning curve ! I became very interested in news releases as it was one thing I noted that had such an impact on price movement - but as ive learned brokers seem to make it so difficult to make money on news releases - perseverance is the key I guess....
