Hi Derek I had some shorts in here but just went flat after the spike. I think its a good short term level to try some longs but more inclined to short AU for me.

Ben, here is a good article which stretches across Australia and New Zealand. Although the Aussie is strong at the moment I think both economies are in for a substantial slow down with Housing Cycle drawing to a close. There is a lot of pressure building to slow the market now. Don't know how this will effect short term as market seems to be pricing out any additional cuts. I think both are under big risks of decent recessions caused by the RE market and follows your mate Keens point of view.

If I was to map out an interest only afford-ability map from the last property cycle to this one they are pretty much the same due to the low interest rates. Considering there has been almost zero wage growth then forward looking the future afford-ability becomes a big issue for buyers in this property cycle. The difference between the end of the last cycle 2007 and the end of this 2017 the average house price in Sydney has gone up 110%.

The below is a bit nerdy but the point is small IR moves will have a huge impact on afford-ability and will hit Australia and New Zealand the hardest.

Thanks for that. I had to stop following the prof because he never stops talking, writing, tweeting, he relentless and have the gist of what he's saying. I always enjoy his talks with Erik on Macrovoices so will wait for him there.
