So now we see EUR/USD at 105.39 because NEW PERCEPTIONS is that NOW FED must raise on March 15, 2017. WAIT MAYBE NOT because ADP Number has been wrong before HISTORICALLY so if the NFP number is 125,000 then THE FED has a opening to NOT RAISE !!!

I do not care what the NUMBER is on Friday. I just want to be aware of all the possibilities.

NOTICE NOW HOW THE FUTURES ARE DOWN on US 30 and SPX500 !!! Why ?

Because now the MARKETS (PERCEPTIONS) are convinced of a RAISE so that is BAD for The Equity Markets. Do you understand ?

In 15 minutes North America Equity Markets open at 9:30 AM Eastern Standard Time and the MARKETS will DECIDE where the MONEY FLOWS.

Meanwhile Europe goes home at 11:30 AM Eastern Standard Time.

If the Dow 30 (US 30) and the SPX500 HEAD DOWN then you will see USD/JPY head down and I will SHORT 2 positions of 100 units of USD/JPY.

Do you understand why ? It is called CORRELATION and RISK OFF and FLOW of Money into safer Asset Classes and MONEY will FLOW into the US 10 Year Bonds as well.

Do you see how the US Bonds are Selling OFF as the MARKETS are pricing in a RAISE IN INTEREST RATES on March 15, 2017 which is TERRIBLE FOR FIXED INCOME Assets such as Bonds so Rates Go UP to MATCH the expected Rate Hike and then money ROTATES SHORT TERM into Equities.

Hi Ben- You seem lonely so I thought I would say hello.

Once again- Just saying thanks for all the good info, some seems basic and then some is new to me and then I spend time to research.
this has been a good exercise for me to further my fundamental understanding.

I see rick on and I also see forex price manipulation (UJ ) (you could say money flow) and getting ready for the NFP price move. at the moment UJ has a very high ADR so I am looking for the shorts for now. And if the fundamentals are there to confirm - is all the better.

Edit- I have scalped UJ and EJ Shorts-- I am out of both trades now -- before 10:00 EST -- I could be done for the day - now
but will wait till after 10 EST and may retake short on UJ -- Just have to see how price reacts.

As long as US 30 REVERSE and HEAD Down towards 20,000 and SPX500 Reverse and head down then USD/JPY will head towards 112.00.

After I see Support and Resistance and Pivot Points on a 15 Minute Chart as I am Day Trading in the moment then I will Go Short at the right moment.

I also am going to go back to my previous formula for taking profits. What I mean is this. Last night before the ADP RISK ON OR RISK OFF NUMBER , I had two profit positions of close to $1000 US Dollars so what I will do is to take profits when it is OVER $1000 US DOLLARS and there is an upcoming RISK ON or RISK OFF number coming out. So I am helping out my own Forex Trading DISCIPLINE and teaching it here.

EURUSD H1 Chart Update

I think things are quite obvious when you just simpflify charts. Nothing has changed much and we are still short BUT we can see some sign of bearish weakness. For now they are just signs because nothing has been confirmed yet.. What I am watching is the thick blue trendline in the middle of the other thick blue trendlines and the lowest thick red trendline. Both are not broken.

I also marked the bull and the bear areas. As long as candles are closing inside the bear territory selling on upper edges would be more profitable. If price climbs inside blue (bull) territory, buying at the lower edges would be more profitable.

Speaking in terms of price, 1.0562 to 1.0573 zone is nearest resistance. For now, shorting inside that zone would be still okay (If candles don't close above red trendline and inside blue zone!!!!)

Having said that and since for reasons only known to Forex Factory , I can only post on my thread so unless our friend comes here to read my comments or someone here tells him then I will speak to everyone else reading this.

At the moment EUR/USD will stay where it is at 105.51 as at 11:30 AM Eastern Standard Time here in Canada and where I live and work from when the Europe Equity Markets close then NO MORE MONEY FLOW from there in the Equity Markets until 2 AM Eastern Standard Time in Frankfurt.

Of course the Forex Markets are open until 6 PM Eastern Standard Time on Friday , March 10, 2017.

Here is my answer on what will happen to EUR/USD in the next 24 hours !!! Not very much as there is not much to move things until 7:45 AM Eastern Standard Time when the ECB decision is announced. Then of course we have Mr Draghi at 8:30 AM Eastern Standard Time and his Press Conference.

We also have US Jobless Claims at 8:30 AM Eastern Standard Time.

If you have any comments or observations or questions then please post them here and I will do my best to answer all questions asked of me.

Are Interest Rates No Longer Driving the Dollar?
The US 10-year yield is at its highs for the year, and yet the US dollar has been struggling to gain traction. Some suggest that this means that the dollar rally is over. Charts like this one are circulating among market participants.

COMMENTARY FROM BENJAMINIS: Since these comments are within my expertise to understand I will offer my views to help all of us understand. The US 10 Year Yield is at it's HIGH as we have been discussing on our thread only because of the FED position on raising Interest Rates perhaps three times during 2017. This announcement created the situation where they broke the Bond Bubble and TRILLIONS of Dollars were LOST as the Bonds sold off and affected Interest Rates around the World.

The MONEY FLOW rotated in Equities as we can all see surely helped along by the election of President Donald John Trump on November 8, 2016.

Now we see the results by the Dow 30 going over 20,000 in the last few days.

This Great Graphic was created on Bloomberg. The white line is the Dollar Index, and the yellow line is the US 10-year yield. The two look highly correlated over the past six months, until very recently.

COMMENTARY FROM BENJAMINIS: The CORRELATION is starting to maybe CHANGE because of the following reasons. The agenda of the FED and the Central Banks around the World appears to be opposite of President Trump. His agenda is to create jobs and protect Americans and help them improve their lives. The AGENDA of the FED and the Central banks is opposite this.

We are not convinced. First, one can see on the chart other times over the past six months where the relationship looked less tight but did not signal a change in drivers. Second, correlation is not something that can always we eyeballed, especially when the chart shows two-time series with two different scales.

Dollar is Firmer, but Mostly Sidelined, as Equity Charge Continues


The US dollar is mostly firmer against the major currencies but is confined to narrow ranges, and well-worn ranges at that, but the focus has shifted to the strong advance in equities. Yesterday, the Dow Jones Industrials finally rose through the psychologically-important 20k level, and the S&P 500 gapped higher to new record levels.

COMMENTARY FROM BENJAMINIS: We now return to President Trump who wants the US Dollar to go down and the FED wants it to go up. The US Dollar MUST go down otherwise it causes harm to the Global community and in effect now the REAL CURRENCY WAR enters into the next stage.
PLEASE POST QUESTIONS IF I HAVE NOT MADE MY EXPLANATION VERY CLEAR. YOU REALLY NEED TO UNDERSTAND AND IT IS NOT THAT HARD IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I HAVE JUST SAID.

Great Graphic: Mexico and China Unit Labor Costs
This Great Graphic was posted by David Merkel on his AlephBlog with a hat tip to Sober Look. It looks at the divergence of unit labor costs in China and Mexico since 2007 through 2015.

The Mexican peso depreciated 17% last year. The yuan fell 6%. That 11% differential likely swamped the change in productivity and wages. That would translate into even greater divergence in unit labor costs.

For New Readers From Post 1471 - Money Flow Method with Risk Management.

I post this again so there is NO DOUBT on How To Trade Forex and Earn Money and Protect Your Capital.

Once again , I try hard for everyone to understand all the parts that would guarantee your success if you have the necessary skills and DISCIPLINE. I can not guarantee that you do however I will know for sure by your Forex Trading results. It is up to you not myself as I have done my part and at least three of our Forex Traders are learning well. The three that are working on it and participating. IT IS THAT SIMPLE and that has too be clear so JUST DO IT !!!

I first want to talk about having an EDGE. Fundamentals by themselves is not an EDGE. However using Money Flow between Asset Classes from here on I will include in my basket of 100% of what a winning Forex Trader needs. I will not refer to it as a fundamental anymore since new people coming to this thread put my method as including Money Flow as a fundamental which it actually is however not in the same way as most people understand Fundamentals.

This week we will get to see Non Farm Payroll (N F P) and as any experienced Fundamental Forex Trader knows it usually is a fantasy number created by the BLS however next to a FED rate announcement it is the one number that can move markets hundreds of PIPS in seconds and minutes.

Whatever the number Trillions of Fiat Currencies and other Asset Classes will start to change values as we "SEE" the Money Flow. That is why I call it my EDGE and once you know it and understand it well then it becomes your EDGE as well.

Here are the 5 important things that any Forex Trader that belongs to the minority of constant profitable Forex Traders , which I have named , The 5% Club needs to have. Of course in my opinion, I would think that very few Professional Forex Traders use the EDGE. Of course when you know about it then anyone can use it.

Each of the following five important things which I have given a weighting of 20% to each makes up what a profitable Forex Trader needs to have in order of IMPORTANCE.

(1) The ability of the Forex Trader to control their FEAR and their GREED and their EGO. Perhaps the last one is the most important of the three since the MARKET is always right. Using Money Flow puts you with the Market instead of against it as your Forex Account keeps losing the value in it.

The reason that I teach Forex Traders whether experienced or new to Forex trading with a $50,000 US Dollars Demo Account is because that is how I learned my trade starting during 2003. By learning to trade with $50,000 US Dollars in Demo Funds, then I had no FEAR or GREED. However after 3 years of Forex Demo Trading I surely had EGO since month in and month out my Return On Investment (ROI) was constantly over 10% a month or 120% a year.

(2) Money Flow. I have now explained why.

(3) Risk Management. That is next to Money Flow the KEY element of my Forex Trading since when you blow your account whether you are trading with too little capital as the majority of Retail Traders are or because of a Black Swan event such as Brexit or Europe banking issue such as we have in Italy at the moment or the Swiss Central Bank as they did a few years ago say one thing and then next moment announce a major change in their policy and 500 PIP movements happen in seconds. The absolute MINIMUM Forex Account that I would and could trade with would be $10,000 US Dollars. I would be glad to answer questions as to why although most will understand. What if you do not have $10,000 US Dollars trade with ? Prove to yourself that you have the skills and the knowledge to trade with profits then you will have no problems finding funds to trade Forex with. After my 3 years of Forex Demo Trading, I went out and found 6 clients that first deposited initially $50,000 US Dollars and within 3 months along with the profits that I was generating in my first three months of Forex trading from March 2006 to June 2006, I was managing well over $100,000 US Dollars.

(4) Technical Indicators which includes all parts of it whether Support and Resistance or Supply and Demand or Pivot Points. I use when I do daily trades the 5 Minute Charts along with the 15 Minute Charts and 30 Minute Charts to go along with the 4 Hour Charts. When you toss a rock in the river the first ripple is the 5 Minute Chart and then on to the 30 Minute and the two others. I use other indicators aside from the standard ones which are SAR and Fractal and Awesome Oscillator. The most important one that I look at when I enter into a Forex Trade is Support and Resistance so if I am going long or short I enter either at the TOP or BOTTOM of the Chart that I am using. Of course my Risk Management protects me from Human Errors or EGO.

(5) Fundamentals. I am fairly sure most of those reading my words today or whenever they read it might be surprised how a Forex Trader such as myself who posts a tremendous amount of research can list fundamentals as number (5) in order of importance. It is the research that allows me to clearly understand the difference between PERCEPTION (Markets) and REALITY (Research) Then I know what will most likely happen in the future and I am better prepared to deal with it.

I hope that this post of my daily Morning Thoughts answers some of your questions both for the 12 Forex Traders using the $50,000 US Funds Demo account with FXCM UK or anyone else. There is no reason that an experienced trader reading this thread or anyone else to not open a $50,000 US Dollars FXCM UK account so they can use the knowledge that we share here to learn new things and try them without having any FEAR of LOSS !!!

Finding the Turtles
To settle the bet, Dennis placed an ad in The Wall Street Journal and thousands applied to learn trading at the feet of widely acknowledged masters in the world of commodity trading. Only 14 traders would be make it through the first "Turtle" program. No one knows the exact criteria Dennis used, but the process included a series of true-or-false questions; a few of which you can find below:

1. The big money in trading is made when one can get long at lows after a big downtrend.
2. It is not helpful to watch every quote in the markets one trades.
3. Others' opinions of the market are good to follow.
4. If one has $10,000 to risk, one ought to risk $2,500 on every trade.
5. On initiation one should know precisely where to liquidate if a loss occurs.

For the record, according to the Turtle method, 1 and 3 are false; 2, 4, and 5 are true. (For more on turtle trading, see Trading Systems: Run With The Herd Or Be The Lone Wolf?)


The Rules
Turtles were taught very specifically how to implement a trend-following strategy. The idea is that the "trend is your friend," so you should buy futures breaking out to the upside of trading ranges and sell short downside breakouts. In practice, this means, for example, buying new four-week highs as an entry signal. Figure 1 shows a typical turtle trading strategy. (For more, see Defining Active Trading.)

This trade was initiated on a new 40-day high. The exit signal was a close below the 20-day low. The exact parameters used by Dennis were kept secret for many years, and are now protected by various copyrights. In "The Complete TurtleTrader: The Legend, the Lessons, the Results" (2007), author Michael Covel offers some insights into the specific rules:

1. Look at prices rather than relying on information from television or newspaper commentators to make your trading decisions.

1. Have some flexibility in setting the parameters for your buy and sell signals. Test different parameters for different markets to find out what works best from your personal perspective.

1. Plan your exit as you plan your entry. Know when you will take profits and when you will cut losses. (To learn more, read The Importance Of A Profit/Loss Plan.)

1. Use the average true range to calculate volatility and use this to vary your position size. Take larger positions in less volatile markets and lessen your exposure to the most volatile markets. (For more insight, see Measure Volatility With Average True Range.)

1. Don't ever risk more than 2% of your account on a single trade.

1. If you want to make big returns, you need to get comfortable with large drawdowns.

Did It Work?
According to former turtle Russell Sands, as a group, the two classes of turtles Dennis personally trained earned more than $175 million in only five years.


Dennis had proved beyond a doubt that beginners can learn to trade successfully. Sands contends that the system still works well and said that if you started with $10,000 at the beginning of 2007 and followed the original turtle rules, you would have ended the year with $25,000.


Even without Dennis' help, individuals can apply the basic rules of turtle trading to their own trading. The general idea is to buy breakouts and close the trade when prices start consolidating or reverse. Short trades must be made according to the same principles under this system because a market experiences both uptrends and downtrends. While any time frame can be used for the entry signal, the exit signal needs to be significantly shorter in order to maximize profitable trades. (For more, see The Anatomy of Trading Breakouts.)


Despite its great successes, however, the downside to turtle trading is at least as great as the upside. Drawdowns should be expected with any trading system, but they tend to be especially deep with trend-following strategies. This is at least partly due to the fact that most breakouts tend to be false moves, resulting in a large number of losing trades. In the end, practitioners say to expect to be correct 40-50% of the time and to be ready for large drawdowns.



The Bottom Line
The story of how a group of non-traders learned to trade for big profits is one of the great stock market legends. It's also a great lesson in how sticking to a specific set of proven criteria can help traders realize greater returns. In this case however, the results are close to flipping a coin, so it's up to you decide if this strategy is for you.

I also love the turtle trading concept and I am very excited about the website and the live webinar aspect of it.
I truly believe we will learn then even more each day.

Ben- number 4 on - finding a turtle cant be correct.

I think that I agree since when I have traded with $10,000 US Dollars Real Funds , I would first of all never have more than 2 positions open of 100 units and on my Risk Management , for each position at MAXIMUM , I would not risk more than 5% if that or a loss of $500 so you can see why I never trade with less than $50,000 US Dollars in Real Funds so I can have three positions with each Trade Plan and RISK at MAXIMUM , 6% of my Trading Capital.

I also could have if I wanted 20% of my trading capital used or $10,000 US Dollars so I could have say MAXIMUM 3 Trading Plans at the same time or $9000 US Dollars capital used however because of our SCALING IN STRATEGY it is not usual to have all three positions on at the same time.

Right Now I have 4 Open Positions, (2) of US 30 and (2) of SPX500 and I see now one of them has DRAW UP PROFIT of $1000 US Dollars and will now CLOSE one Position and since WEDNESDAY is a three Rollover Day , I just closed both SPX500 Positions so in one my Gross Profit was $1011 US Dollars less Rollover costs of $100 US Dollars so my NET CLOSED is PLUS $911 US Dollars. My other position was Gross Profit of $500 US Dollars less Rollover costs of $161 US Dollars for a Net Profit of $339 US Dollars and I save 3 days of Rollover costs on those 2 positions now closed. It is so EASY when you have 14 years of knowledge and experience and of course DISCIPLINE. YES , I WILL DO THE SCREENSHOT by myself over the weekend.

This took about 2 minute including typing (my background is IT)

a) Open up a chart (eg bonds)- then press Prtsc (Print screen)
b) Open Excel
c) Press Ctrl and then the letter V - then scroll down until you have all of the information on the screen
d) Click on Insert (at the top on the left)
e) Go to shapes- click on Lines - and draw, then click on rectangle and type in something (eg: "went short here")
f) Press CTRL + F1 and then PrtSc key
g) On the FF page press the upload screenshot, CTRL +V, and then crop
h) Then Post New Reply
i) Then back to excel and press CTRL and then F1 to show ribbon

I was just getting ready to make a post titled After Angry Exchange Reid Postpones Senate Vote on His Plan; Majority Leader Conrad Hints at Raising Revenue Measures; Compromise in the Air.

Just before I hit enter on posting, word came that a deal was reached. I will continue with my original post (so that you can see sausage in the making) followed by the a description of the alleged yet White House denied deal.

Hints Compromise Amid Feud
Talk of compromise is in the air. House Majority Leader Conrad is surprisingly hinting at revenue raising measures. Meanwhile Senator Kyle suggests more progress is being made than it seems, even though Senator Reid postpones a vote on his proposal after an angry exchange with Republicans.
This negotiation smacks of a dont blame me effort from both parties that will put off all hard choices until later.

The New York Times reports Hint of Deal as Congress Wrangles Over Debt Crisis

After a tense day of Congressional floor fights and angry exchanges, Senator Harry Reid, the majority leader, called off a planned showdown vote set for after midnight, but said he would convene the Senate at noon on Sunday for a vote an hour later. He said he wanted to give the new negotiations a chance to produce a plan to raise the federal debt limit in exchange for spending cuts and the creation of a new Congressional committee that would try to assemble a long-range deficit-cutting proposal.

The first indication off a softening of the hard lines that have marked weeks of partisan wrangling over the debt limit came in the afternoon when the two leading Congressional Republicans announced that they had reopened fiscal talks with the White House and expected their last-ditch drive to produce a compromise.

Following the Houses sharp rejection of a proposal by Mr. Reid to raise the debt limit and cut spending, Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the Republican leader and a linchpin in efforts to reach a deal, said he and Speaker John A. Boehner were now fully engaged in efforts with the White House to find a resolution that would tie an increase in the debt limit to spending cuts and other conditions.

The deal they were discussing, this person said, resembled the bill that Mr. Boehner won approval for in the House on Friday more than it did the one that Mr. Reid had proposed.

It would immediately raise the debt ceiling by about $1 trillion, accompanied by a similar range of spending cuts, and set up a new bipartisan committee that would work to find deeper cuts in exchange for a second debt limit increase that would extend through the 2012 election.

A failure of the new committee to win enactment of its proposal could then set off automatic spending cuts across the board, including to entitlement programs.

After Mr. McConnell sounded a hopeful note, Mr. Reid called members of the Senate to the floor to hear him dispute the claims by his Republican counterpart and accuse Republicans of failing to enter into serious negotiations even as the Treasury risked running out of money to pay all its bills after Tuesday.

The speaker and Republican leader should know that merely saying you have an agreement in front of television cameras doesnt make it so, Mr. Reid said after returning from a visit to the White House with Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democratic leader in the House.

The Treasury Department calculates that the government will exhaust its ability to borrow money at the end of Tuesday, forcing the government to pay its bills from a dwindling pile of cash. Independent analysts estimate the government has enough money on hand to pay all of its bills for another week, more or less, before it starts missing payments.

That sounds like more feud than compromise so lets take a look at the viewpoint on Bloomberg posted roughly three hours later at 10:41.

There are negotiations going on at the White House now, Reid said on the Senate floor, and those involved in the talks wanted more time before a vote was held on whether the Senate moved ahead with his measure.

A planned 1 a.m. vote was pushed forward 12 hours, to 1 p.m. Reid said the Senate would convene at noon tomorrow.


There are many elements to be finalized and there is still a distance to go before any arrangement can be completed, Reid said of the talks involving Obama and congressional leaders.

Reids plan, which the House symbolically rejected earlier today, would lift the $14.3 trillion debt limit by $2.4 trillion.


Conrad, a North Dakota Democrat who is chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, said a few bipartisan groups of senators have drafted three alternative plans to supplement a proposal offered by Reid. The Republican-run House today defeated Reids plan.


The alternative plans include possible new revenue as part of their formula for cutting the federal deficit, according to Conrad. Republican leaders have said from the start of negotiations that a net increase in tax revenue is unacceptable.


All three involve the possibility of revenue, Conrad said. McConnell wasnt among the Republicans involved in the alternative bipartisan plans, according to Conrad.

ABC News has learned that Republicans and the White House have struck a tenative deal to raise the debt ceiling before the Aug. 2 deadline. Its not done yet, but here is the framework of the tentative deal they have worked out, according to a source familiar with the negotiations:

1. Debt ceiling increase of up to $2.8 trillion
2. Spending cuts of roughly $1 trillion
3. Vote on the Balanced Budget Amendment
4. Special committee to recommend cuts of $1.8 trillion (or whatever it takes to add up to the total of the debt ceiling increase)
5. Committee must make recommendations before Thanksgiving recess
6. If Congress does not approve those cuts by late December, automatic across-the-board cuts go into effect, including cuts to Defense and Medicare.

A senior White House aide pushed back against the idea that a deal was struck.
Talks continue, but there is no deal to report, the aide said.

Deal or No Deal?

Even if there is a deal, it is no bargain to anyone. A vote on a balance budget will not pass so why bother other than for political finger-pointing purposes?


$1 trillion in presumably back-loaded spending cuts is a farce.


The special committee will not accomplish a thing. Even if by some miracle it achieves another $1.8 trillion in spending cuts, that still only brings the total to a lousy $2.8 trillion, or $280 billion a year in a $1.4 trillion deficit.

This is not even a reasonable down payment on what needs to happen.

Now that Republicans are in control of the Executive and both Legislative houses, might it be time to address the budget deficit?
Perish the thought. Republicans cannot agree on How or Whether to Pay for Tax Cuts.

A fight is brewing among congressional Republicans over whether a planned tax overhaul should pay for itself.

The plan favored by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R., Wis.) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) aims to be revenue-neutral: Lowering taxes without increasing the deficit though their math comes with some caveats.

But President Donald Trump hasnt signed onto that budgetary straitjacket, and some lawmakers are sympathetic to the idea of dumping the revenue-neutral goal.


Revenue neutrality shouldnt necessarily be a constraint, said Sen. Pat Toomey (R., Pa.) The primary goal should be maximizing growth and thereby increasing the income for Pennsylvania families.


Rohit Kumar, a former aide to Mr. McConnell who is now at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, said revenue neutrality is a useful organizing principle, but requires some hard policy choices, and it may be that those hard policy choices are harder than undoing the constraint.


The House hasnt shown yet how its plan actually adds up, and lawmakers are having trouble building political consensus around the border-adjustment proposal, one of the biggest changes to produce revenue and offset the rate cuts.


Under that plan, companies wouldnt be able to deduct the cost of imports from their revenue, while exports and other foreign sales would be made free of U.S. taxes. The proposal would operate like a tax on the trade deficit and raise about $1 trillion over a decade, but divides lawmakers and corporations.


If Republicans choose tax cuts that lose revenue in the long run, they will face the Senates Byrd Rule, which prevents deficits outside the budget scoring window without 60 votes.


To comply with that rule, they could keep structural changes as permanent law but set some tax rate cuts to expire or snap back to higher levels. They could lengthen the budget window to 15 or 20 years and see if that changes the estimates or lets them delay expiration dates further. They could also pair tax cuts with spending cuts.


Chucking the revenue constraint would make it even harder to get votes from Democrats.

Debt Ceiling Shenanigans

What a hoot!


All of a sudden the Democrats are worried about revenue.

And after eight years of preaching fiscal restraint, once even shutting down parts of government over debt ceiling limits, the Republicans want no part of fiscal cutbacks.


Where are the Republicans on the issue of a debt ceiling now that hey are in control? The answer is hiding, even though Automatic Debt Ceiling Hikes Expire March 16.



Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said during his confirmation hearing that he supports increasing the debt limit, and Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney said last month that the administration plans to use extraordinary measures as long as possible.


Tax Cut Wont Pay for Itself
Forget the notion the tax cuts will pay for themselves. The Border Adjustment Tax (BAT), tariffs, and the trade war retaliations of our major trading partners will destroy jobs and slow growth.


I would be more optimistic if Congress would simply lower the corporate tax rate and be done with it, but that seems highly unlikely.


Fiscal Hawk Hypocrites
Meanwhile, the party in power always wants fiscal expansion. The fiscal hawk conservatives have proven to be nothing but a pack of hypocrites now that they are in power.

Please read this carefully as he is plugged in and spot on, this is a giant liquidity/credit problem. China will not save the financial system, in fact, they may be at the very core.

Did you see the Chinese Trade data and that Imports outpaced Exports giving them a deficit of around $9.1bn for the first time in over three years?


Perhaps they will be back in a surplus in the next period, however it could be a sign of declining demand globally as their export markets continue to weaken.

Which if so, tells us the western economies are still contracting regardless of what is being said, and China will face it’s own troubles.

Some parties will say perhaps it is a New Year issue but that is not the real story.

China does have a liquidity problem it’s hiding, that has not yet come into public view. Although, with cities for millions sitting empty and deteriorating causing a real drag on capital velocity (imagine a city of 3 million sitting empty and the lack of capital movement/ velocity by non productive real estate) ( they have a number) and soft declining exports while inventories build, all quietly financed with leveraged capital, it should not come as a surprise.


The big shock will come when rates in the US go up on the 15th and debt ceiling is breached, along with the continued decline in retail store volumes and increasing store closings. Where do people think the replacement sales are coming from? People forget loans are libor sensitive even to Chinese borrowers and their financiers, especially the commodity houses.


Consequently it will be their liquidity problem that will shock.
