Mingary, I couldn't agree more!

What about kids getting hold of guns? No matter how careful people think they are, if guns are a part of life, kids will get hold of them, Then of course the low IQ's are not careful. There are a lot of stories concerning guns, kids and accidents - even just one is too much.

The average IQ in America is 98. As I've mentioned in the past, I believe that the distribution is not even and it is likely to show a weighted bell curve, with a few very intelligent people and the majority below average. Someone with an IQ of 70 is considered to have mild learning difficulties. There will be plenty of people in that category and below.

What's the IQ of a monkey? So that is effectively monkeys running around with guns. Whatever could go wrong?

You won't part the Americans from their guns. All you can do is increase registration of weapons, ensure that owners are sane enough to be holders of a firearms permit and legislate for stored weapons to be secure

How many registered Gun Owners go out and commit crimes with their firearms? Less than 1% maybe? In fact most gun violence committed are with illegally purchased weapons! Just the facts! So the question still remains, why do responsible gun owners have to suffer and get the blame when crimes are committed with illegal guns? We have enough regulations on the books as it is, they just aren't being enforced!

What are the actual stats in America of Kids getting hold of guns? Do you have an actual reference of the actual statistics that verify or back up your assertion? I would be willing to bet it is not a common occurrence. While I knowledge that there have been cases of careless owners, and for that certain measures have been taken in order to insure gun safety such as charging the gun owners with negligence and endangerment of Child welfare safety laws. Both have severe consequences if negligence is found to be the case.
