Hi Mate.

I trade basically on H4 ...

It keeps me from doing crazy things......like over trading.

I rarely trade on H1 except if there is thin market e.g on Mondays (if there is no Red News).

The lower TF i go, the more trade i take and the more i could loose.... therefore i stay on H4 so i get few trades but sure and correct ones... (High probability trades).

The 50 line is very very important to me on this system....(Buy above 50 and Sell below 50).

Monies and people like him who trade on H1 have got the mental strength and psychology to deal with that time frame and they must have practiced very well to master there trade.

It is about Personality and Comfortability.

You need to find what is good for you.... it is a continuous learning process.

I will suggest you try the H1 time frame for 1 to 3 months on Demo first.

Then you can see which is good for your personality.

Hi Dethkult, wow, 100 pages already. When I check for alerts every hour and one comes up, if everything lines up, I take the trade there and then. You won't get an alert 10 minutes in, only each hour (if you're on the H1 timeframe obviously). Cheers, Moonie.

P.S. Just to stay on topic - so far no viable trade. Also a question for Moonie, the HA that you've provided shows up like bars on my chart and if I switch to candles it looks all messed up - any ideas?

Sorry for late reply.... i just woke up am saw your post (it is 7.45 am here in UK)

I would not have taken this trade..... because for me it is not a high probability trade.

1) Too many Support and Resistance areas ....too close together.... too near to each other...(this means pair is Ranging).... See Numbers on Pic.
2) Time of day... it seems you took this trade in Asian session... unless you are looking for small pips.... then Asian session is not really good for high time frame unless there is news.
3) Frankfurt open to New York close better.
4) Your Stoch is below the 50 line.
5) See the Trend line i drew there.

Sometimes it works out...but most times it doesn't ......
Patience is Extremely important.

The way he explained it to me - he looks for bounce alerts from the watchdog and cross alerts from the TDI_alerts. So yeah you have both indies alerting you if something's happening.

Another approach is to follow the basic of TMS H4 trading by Big E. His posts Post#261 and Post#647,

Look at the higher timeframes, is there trend up or down or what?
Look at the candles - big, small or what? Is the current price action in or near a consolidation area?
Look to the left of your trading chart, is there nearby support and resistance? BRN?

I think he uses the watchdog for bounces only, and TDI alerts for crosses.
