Hello,
Of course trends are important for something like this but... if we knew when the trend will continue or stop, we would all be zillionaires, right? I am afraid this is impossible to know in advance!

A couple of questions, though.

Do you open three new positions every week?

What if you get conflicting entries? You buy one week and sell the next. Should you just close the first three positions or buy/sell and forget?

I think the tridane trend filter should be considered see this post http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...92#post8183892. I agree with the CCI thats going to be important too.

Hi Soros, this EA is looking very good, thanks to yourself and Abokwaik for great work. I've been testing the EA since Monday. Had some dd at first, next day it recovered very well. Glad you re-opened the thread.

I tend to agree with Kilian on not adding too many indicators.

The system already defines a trend. And trades on retraces.
How deep the retrace would be is the question. For that I provided an input for Retrace Bars to allow for such testing.

However I think it would be a good idea to wait for the Lower Time Frame (Daily in this case), to go in the Upper Time Frame (Weekly) Direction after a retrace before we enter the trade.

Plus

ATR can be deceiving sometimes as its related to bar sizes which can vary (consolidation vs trending).

What would be worth testing is Move Size in Pips, for example if price of X weeks is up min Y pips we wait for a retrace of min Z pips, trail at Z pips.

Just my 2 cents.

I can contribute criticism a lot of people don't want to hear. We are pretty good at analyzing market cycles aren't we lets analyze the system thread lifetime cycle found here at ff.
If we take a look at any strategy proposed during the past years you see that first someone got an idea and it works good currently. Suddenly the system starts to fail and indicators are proposed to be added to the system. After that more and more filters are requested to be added. (Here an MA there a custom indicator). But this all happens without proper research. Just because the indicator looks pretty. At the end you usually end up with a completely overloaded system which still is not profitable. This happens with literally every system suggested here!

If you want my suggestion, do not blindly add indicators to your system think about the reasoning behind adding something before. Could it work and after that does it really work?
There are 4 types of indicators, Trend, Momentum, Volatility and Volume. Multiple indicators of the same type measure the exact same thing and usually do not add anything to the system besides reducing the sample size of trades and making the backtest look good due to that reason.

My system is simple, basic on scalp with stop order timer and tp sl - place order continuosly in the same direction after hit tp or timer stop on win, or place reverse order after hit sl or timer stop on loss. may you help me to create it on EA?
