KronusEA has been in development for a very long time. It has taken me 4 years to get to this point.

I have created many expert advisors for the MQL5 and MQL4 community, some of you might know my systems already but there are none as profitable and risk free as this one.

The Strategy

To begin with, let me tell you that I have been looking for the right conditions in a broker for over a year and now I have finally found the broker we need.

KronusEA trades the exotic Scandinavian pairs EURSEK and EURNOK. The spread on these pairs on a general broker can vary from 10pips to over 1000pips. On our broker, the spread is fixed at 40pips for EURNOK and 50pips for EURSEK! This is great for KronusEA, it means that what we see in the back tests are very likely to happen in a live environment. It also means that KronusEA will not loose trades because the spread has unexpectedly widened. The trading methodology will be as genuine as it was sought out to be.

KronusEA is not a martingale or grid strategy!


KronusEA will begin its trading session around 18h GMT and end its trading session around midnight. This is the time when there is least European news and the volatilities are calming down. The system is not about catching the big moves, if that were so we would be having much bigger draw downs and losses. The system takes a dying volatility market and catches the price at the upper or lower end for the trade to settle in profit. The win ratio is generally over 85% on both pairs.


If a trade has been opened and it is not successful within a time limit, there are various exit routes.

The first choice of exit, is to close the trade above a desired value per lot after a given time. This is how most of the trades close.

The second choice of exit, is to close the trade at break even given a certain amount of time and number of pips loss.


The third choice of exit is the fail safe, the stop loss, the equity protection routine. This is not a hard stop, it is a trailing take profit below the entry price yet at the nearest high ( for long positions and vice versa for short positions ). Eventually the trade will be stopped out at the best possible exit level with the least amount of the loss.

The Settings

TIME SETTINGS

TradeTimeSeconds = 900
The minimum time measured in seconds between the start of trades. eg. If this value was set @ 3600, this would mean that a trade can only be executed every hour.

ProfitTimeSeconds = 900
The time measured in seconds for the system to cut a trade in profit if it is above the ProfitPerLot setting.

QualifyTimeSeconds = 600
The time measured in seconds to qualify a trade for ExtraProfit. e.g.if a trade is above the QualifyProfit value after the QualifyTimeSeconds then the profit target will be increase by ExtraProfit

SignalAStartHour = 18
The start hour of the trading session.

SignalAEndHour = 2
The end hour of the trading session. Note: The system will include this hour for trading there if you want the system not trade a 22h then you must set this value to 21.

MARGIN SETTINGS

MarginUsage = 0.08
The amount of equity used to calculate the lot size.

ExponentialGrowth = 0.08
The expected growth from trading per day. If the system does not achieve this growth then it will implement various algorithms to increase its profit until the exponent has been reached.

MultiplyPower = 1.3
Various attributes are multipled by this number to achieve the ExponentialGrowth

MaxMultiplier = 1.5
Limit the multiplication factor to this level until the exponent has been reached

CANDLE SETTINGS

CandleOffset = 65
The number of pips the candle should be outside the mean of the last 3 candles to open a position. Larger values are less risky however the number trades will be fewer.

CandleRange = 40
The average number of pips that the last 3 candles should be ranging in order for a position to be opened.

SIGNAL SETTINGS

OpenOffset = 60
The number of pips the Ask or Bid prices should be above or below the moving average to open a position. This is an additional signal to the candle settings.

MaxRange = 450
The maximum number of pips between the recent highs and lows that the system will allow signals of this type.

MaxTrend = 45
The number of pips trending on the moving average that the system will allow signals of this type.

PROFIT SETTINGS

HighLowOffset = 0
The number of pips that the highs and lows are offset by. A positive value will be inside the high and low, a negative value will be outsite the high and low.

StartProfit = 75
The number of pips that the initial take profit order is placed when a trade is opened

QualifyProfit = 60
The number of pips that a position must be in profit within the QualifyTimeSeconds in order to adjust the target by ExtraProfit pips

ExtraProfit = 40
The number of pips the take profit is adjust if the position meets the qualifying criteria

ProfitPerLot = 45
Amount profit in dollar value per lot traded that a position is generally closed at after the ProfitTimeSeconds.

TrailStart = 40
When a trade is going negative, only start the trailing loss after this number of pips in loss. This value is designed to ensure that most of the trades are profitable.

INDICATOR MA

MA1Period = 10
The moving average period of the current chart.

MAShiftCheck = 5
The number of bars used to calculate the trend difference in price on the moving average

INDICATOR XigXag

ZZBack = 3
The minimal amount of bars between the highs and lows

ZZDepth = 14
The number of bars for the next high or low when calculating the ZZDev ( deviation )

ZZDev = 5
The number of pips higher or lower than the previous high or low


Backtesting

When you get he expert advisor, you will be able to use it on any demo account.

Should you want to some of your own backtesting, then I suggest that you download and install Tickstory.

With this application you will be able to export high quality data to your MT4 platform easily.
You should always back test with the correct live environment settings in mind. That means you should export the data to your back testing terminal with the same settings as your live account. The most important parameters to set are the leverage and spread settings. Typically I use a leverage of 200, and a spread for EURSEK of 50pips ( you will need to enter 500 in Tickstory ) and for EURNOK the spread is 40pips ( 400 in Tickstory ).


I always like to use a back test period of at least 2 years. With this period you will get a very good idea on how stable your settings are.

I have been in contact with many brokers over the last year and believe me, there is no better environment. You would be able to test your version on any other broker provided you are using a demo account. If you find a great result then you should contact me and I will consider your findings.

Generally, KronusEA can trade off any balance. Typically, the minimum deposit is 200usd.
I do not suggest that you use a higher leverage than 200 unless you have tested the settings thoroughly. I can tell you that a higher leverage rewards an much more vigorous growth.

I remember an EA I used once, called "Milestone", developed by Trevone on mql4 fora.
Very (very!) promising, complex, well-thought and designed, until I used it on a live account...made $$ every day during two weeks, until one week where everything went wrong, terribly wrong.

Just a reminder to anyone who wants to use an EA:
Understand the strategy (e.g. what would happen in the fxpair would continuously go up/down for xx periods, never retracing)
Backtest
Backtest again, on other pairs, on the same pair, during different periods (don't backtest on 2000-2016, backtest year per year)
Check for journal errors, modeling quality, mismatches
Forward test, on different pairs
Then go-live with an account you won't mind loosing.
