Assuming I have US$120,000.
Using a leverage of 1:4, my position margin will be $83,200 assuming I take 100k units for each position.
This leave me with $36,800.
So even if it drops $0.15, my "temporary" deposit with the market is $15,000 for first position and $13,400 for second position totaling $28,400 which still leaves me with spare of $8,400 in cash position.
By the time said even 6 months to reach target, I will get back $5300 and $5700 once both $1.71 and $1,73 are hit. Although with positive swap, I might not gain much cos I will still need to pay holding cost that could even out each other since I used extremely low leverage.
Based on the above scenario, $11,000 for 6 months, so in a year of 2 such similar trades will have about $22,000 which is approximately 18.3%.
This should be a very conservative calculation in terms of holding period.
If would to take your average holding period, it is well in excess of 25%.
The trade itself becomes stress free cos one does not need to look so often. Set and forget it mentality...
