Trade update. Trade started to go against me. Set my stop loss 5 pips above the 161 of BC. Although the bulls, in their latest push, seem to have the momentum, the projection was weak. In the last two candles, the bears have presented themselves with force. Still in the trade, for now...

Hit TP 1. Maybe should had a little more room in there. Won't complain, out of the trade with 15 pips. Still looks like it's heading down and will achieve TP 2.

Hey guys i'm new to harmonics and still trying to figure this out. I was hoping to get a couple of questions addressed because multiple resources i looked at appear to have conflicting information.

1. What tool should be used to project PRZ points? Ross Becks book "trading the gartley pattern" teaches the use of 3 point fib. extension tool to project the PRZ point. Basically you plot points on A, B and C to project the D. Other sources like baby pips and people on this thread used a simple fib. retracement tool from point B to C use PRZ projection from that.

2. In Carneys book Hamonic trader vol 1 page 41, he mentions C entrancement levels and receprical CD projection ration such as if C retraces to .618 CD PRZ is 1.618. Should these be used with all harmonic patterns to project the PRZ?

Hello Hello and welcome

Answer 1: Its whatever your backtesting shows you. Not only will backtesting help you identify what information is viable but it will teach your eye to spot the patterns easier. Just because theres a pattern, that doesnt mean that it will be successful. Due to barriers , order flow, or price action, the pattern may not put the odds in your favour.

I HIGHLY recommend that you backtest your stratagy before trading live. When you go live, start small for a few months as proof you can trade this type of strategy. Not every strategy is suitable for every individuals psychology.

Answer 2: The PRZ is a zone so try to use as much ratio confluence as possible to justify your entries. Each pattern has a different set of ratios depending on the points.

Here are the rules of enguagement outlined but Mr.Pip (Note: Rules have been modified due to his backtesting)

I got a question... Why is it so hard to make money and so easy to lose money? If its so easy to lose money, wouldn't the simplilest answer be to do the exact opposite. . LOL Just a thought.

very good, I hope you've taken, profits. in my case, I use the 38% and 61% of the last upward swing as TP.

Mack very good question, that's a problem for everyone, I think, is still at least for me.
It has given very good results, cut losses dramatically, if not going the way I wanted, I take out first one hand and then close completely.
With the profits, I try to take part in the first places of support or resistance, and so calm anxiety.
Oliver Velez says that ONLY WE LOSE A CANDLE. And so, when we win, we win three or four, and when we lose, only one, + the spread.
No wait, do not believe, just out, a candle, and so a, probability of success of 50%, we will be making money, and if less, we can still fight him to the market.
Let us, I assure you that gets results, small profits and small losses.

good question Mack,,, it's the same as, we know the market moves in waves so why can't we ride those waves correctly and be on the winning ones? that's why studying the market and all the back testing on its behaviour is so important

If you are wrong let's say 70% of the time, you would be better off doing the exact opposite of what you thought was right as you were saying, but then wouldn't that be a kind of gamble. There is logic in your question, but determining the right from a wrong move would not be that easy.

Update on the EUR/JPY 15M Potential Bearish Gartley. The 78.6 retracement, which coincides with resistance, is being tested. The short term order flow is bullish; however, the long term flow is bearish. Momentum currently favors the bulls. We'll see if the bears can get their act together.
