had read this earlier. El-Erian, seems quite surprized that the bond market is becoming dislocated. His expectation seems to be that the US economy is "healing" and suggests the Fed is annoyed that it's taking so long! I don't know... healing from what? Too much debt? too much misguided management? A rotten core? So putting more of the same food in the green fishbowl is going to turn Goldie right-side up? Some people are co-opted so thoroughly they don't seem to see the cause nor the effect.
I like the way he refers to bonds "being affected by dislocation" as opposed to just saying "junk".
This kind of analysis which is so prevalent nowadays is best described as "re-arranging the deck-chairs on the Titanic"

Technical analysis Gold D1: In D1,we can see clearly perfect AB=CD pattern and a nice pinbar forming yesterday to alert us the change of the trend!By counting EW,I think the wave corrective 4 maybe have finished at 1433,5 and we are in down-wave 5 now!We can take a short putting SL above the pinbar several pips with target at the previous low 1196 at least! While i disagree with his assessment re "zero sum game" (IMV the growth in churn is mostly a function of central bank printing presses), I think this graphic may be of interest to many on this thread, especially those with a more quantitative/system-based approach
