Nicely done. I 'paper traded' this same trade with more or less the same entry. I decided to not enter on my live account due to the holidays, so I just paper traded it while doing other things.

Tonight it's 'all hands to the pumps' though

Good on you Fame, I was watching EJ considering a short when I was glad I didn't do that! However, it wasn't for me to go long either.....next time. GJ looks a bit different but these moves must be news related I suppose which is why they keep going.

Germany import prices -1.4% !!

Euro appreciation adding to deflationary liquidity crunch.

This could get very messy.

Pimco, just commenting on import prices, saying EZ in a similar situation to Japan, at the start of their deflationary depression.

Euro banks have not provided nearly enough for their bad loans, plus they have/are still being forced to buy EZ bonds, plus tightening capital requirements, means less lending to businesses for expansion and growth.

Which means deflationary liquidity squeeze.

Strong exchange rate, means lower inflation.

Add all that up .... Japan revisited

With German elections in September, I dont think so.

With the EZ political paralysis, I see them struggling to avoid serious problems.

The Germans still like a strong currency, they are very proud of a strong Euro

Yes....and in a nut shell, that is principally what's wrong with the whole EU idea. The United States of America works, despite a great deal of serious flaws, because they are one country, one people, one language, one culture (mostly), governed by one elected Federal Govt, and they are the reserve currency.

In the EU, we have Germany who are the only economy that (up til now perhaps) have weathered the storm of the global economic crisis quite competently. The other member states have not done so well. The whole EU project, with it's many countries, many languages, many cultures and many different values, can only move forward *as one* at the speed of slowest member. Much like a school mathematics class can only progress as fast as the slowest learner. Germany wants to plough ahead with conditions that suit *itself*, and (more or less) to hell with the rest of the member states. That is never going to work......Further, Germany is not the EU Government.......and while it is the member state with the best economy, it is still just a member state.

The whole house of cards of the European Union will shatter, if there is no union.....and when one member state wants conditions that suit itself and to hell with the others who are struggling, and will struggle more and more under Germany's preferred conditions, there can be no union.
