A Forex trading technical analysis video showing an initial break above important long term resistance at 0.8460 followed by this week's slump below it. Yesterday's rally failed at the round number of 0.8500 so perhaps support at 0.8400 will hold today. From being very negative the MACD is now neutral and momentum is only just bearish; very mixed indeed. However, were prices to break below 0.8400 we feel it might be best to stand aside as in this small market when many rush to get out the market can become very disorderly.

NEW VIDEO ALERT: USDJPY - DAILY - ICHIMOKU:


A Forex trading technical analysis video showing USDJPY yet again failing to hit 100.00 with a high so far today at 99.88 (versus 99.94 last week). This will be very disappointing for those who like to write snappy headlines and surprising perhaps as futures volume last week was among the top 5 biggest weeks. It also hints that a potential double top might be in the making and that key support lies at 96.24, the 26-day moving average, a 50% retracement of April's rally, and the bottom of a 'M'-shaped double top. Ahead of that we have the 9-day moving average at 97.94, 38% Fibonacci retracement at 97.11, and we remind that daily moves of 150 to 200 pips are easily possible in current market conditions.

New Video alert AUDUSD - DAILY - ICHIMOKU



A Forex trading technical analysis video showing how little support the Australian dollar has when the thundering herd suddenly turns bearish and stampedes over itself. A 300 or so pip loss in a week, on the best futures volume in about 6 months has, needless to say, seen one-month, ten-delta, at-the-money implied volatility increase. The reason prices fell so fast on Monday was that everyone was aware of the important long term resistance level between 1.0500 and 1.0600. Now we look set to test the lower edge of the broad, rough band that has been in place since July 2012. First support lies at 1.0245, the top of the weekly cloud, then in stages (1.0200 and 1.0145) all the way down to 1.0100. We suggest waiting and watching to see on a weekly chart when another interim base is in place.

New Video Alert: EURJPY - 4 HOUR - BOLLINGER BANDS



A Forex trading technical analysis video showing today's reluctant move up to a high at 130.58, just shy of this month's high at 131.10, so that the bounce in wave C is just a little smaller than the A wave. The Bollinger at 131.07 lies where this wave ought to have ended but other oscillators suggest we may fall short. The MACD has eased and now provides less of a bullish push, stochastics look set to cross to a bearish mode any moment now and we have filled a tiny gap formed over the weekend. We currently favour a slow drift to the mean of the Bollinger Band just under 129.00.

NEW VIDEO ALERT: AUDJPY - 4 HOUR - BOLLINGER BANDS


A Forex trading technical analysis video showing that today's drop below trend line support has been contained by the lower Bollinger Band. This follows an A, B, C-type correction up to 102.90 which retraced 61% of the sharp drop into the 15th April. First resistance at 101.55 and the mean of the Bollinger at 101.85 are expected to cap this morning leading to renewed downside testing throughout the day. Support levels lie at 100.68 and then 100.20 which is a Fibonacci 61% retracement support level taken from the low on the 4th April when the Bank of Japan announced its extreme monetary policy measures. Below that there may be a little support at 99.90 and more important is 99.25, the low on the 15th

The price has now broken back below the downward sloping trend line from the peak of 1.3200, broken below the 38.2% Fibonacci retracement level from 1.2750 to 1.3200 and finally broken below the neckline of the head and shoulders chart pattern.
