The price ranged and now it is testing the 61.8 Fib retracement + TDI is getting out of its Volatility Bands, I expect bounce from this level and then go long.

I draw support and resistance on Daily TF and H4

and now the price is facing a strong support, so do you think its going long in the few next hour especially NY is about to open

i have a question regarding bearish outside bar. Do you consider this as a BEOB? If not, why? The previous bar looks like completely covered by the next one, also it happened at strong resistance area 1.6042. thanks!

Hi,

I basically use the ema(89) as the main trend determination and the ema(10) for the short time trend and the ema(534) for the trend of Daily TF (as 6*4=24, so 6*89=534). These are not the exact values of X-man but I consider my approach as a very close offspring of it. I highly recommend to visit www.protradernetwork.com This is a homepage of a trader (dcginc) who used to share his thought also in this thread and the Trading Made Simple thread as well. The ideas of the ema(89) is based on him, the ema(10) I applied from the loveevery1's thread (Another Simple...) this is also a very good thread worth visiting.

Rick uses the 89 EMA for no other reason than "89" is the fibonacci number of last resort. In fact I remember him saying this on his site some where. It is just like some traders use the fibonacci numbers for their MAīs 21 32 50 61 etc. There is no proven benefit. There is also very little difference if you use 20 50 100 200 except that many more traders use 50 and 200. As for the 10, this is just another bit of hokum. Put a 5, 8 or 12 and you will see virtually no difference. It really is a matter of preference and what you believe to be the "magic numbers". The loveevery thread uses on a 15 min chart, 200EMA this represents the 1hr 50 EMA and the 800 EMA represents the 4hr 50 EMA. he uses the 10 EMA because he believes that 10 has some significance in the cosmic scheme of things and that the number 10 appears every where, I think it is called decimalisation.

I totally agree with you. These EMAs are just for determining the trend from a point of view (long term/short term trend). Their main use is to help to be consistent, using the same methodology when filterint for trades and not to jump from one set of emas and group of indicators to a next one. One should choose one set, stick to it and pay attention to S/R levels, the current price actions and the meaning of the price patterns (e.g. I like triangles and wedges especially when the are close the S/R levels and Fib levels). But this is just my personal view as I am just a beginner in forex.

I've been following this thread for few weeks now, reading through the posts but paying more attention on X-man, Dee50, Phx62 replays and charts. Very useful info, thank you guys for your effort.
For a few days now I've been started using this system and from time to time I would like to post some of my mistakes and maybe you guys will help me understand what I did wrong so I don't repeat the same mistakes.
In the below chart I marked the area of where I went LONG.
The first blue candle I didn't take in consideration as it had wicks on both sides and there was no TDI cross. Then the TDI cross appeared (over 50 line) and I went long on the 2nd blue candle as soon as it made a HH than the first blue candle. After few minutes the market went against me and after 2hours my SL of -25pips got hit. In my opinion all rules of this system were matched (candle changed color, entered on a new HH and TDI cross, 200EMA below me and pointing UP, maybe I've ignored the yesterday's high which could have acted as a resistance) So what did I do wrong?
Also another question, the trend line(yellow line in my TDI indicator) was going down, was that an important detail?

Answer on the chart. If you are going to use stochastic, donīt ignore it. The stochastic will tell you more about what phase the market is in than most other oscillators. Set it to 8,3,3. and see how it identifies the swings.

Hi, I am new here. Right now testing the system live on micro lots for one week (wins: 62pips, loss:20 - hope to improve it soon ) . X_man congratulations.

I wonder if anybody has a kind of " tutorial " with most valuable posts? I mean something without "noise posts" - you know more than 600 pages to read, I got through 100p and find out that there are not so many important posts regarding trading with S3.

Am also "into" the system for 3 weeks now. What I did was going through these 600 pages and printing and studying all Phx and X-man's posts containig usefull charts. Eventually you will end up backtesting and these pages will only give you some hints. Then its all your all individual study.
