in my opinion though, if Romney wins, gold will be hammered (based on speculation that Bernanke will no longer be in the fed)
Ignored
Oh, can a president fire Bernanke? I thought they can't. But I heard that Bernanke might leave the fed next year in all case. It was on Bloomberg channel.

I would love to lol. I would start working on the energy and food problems that are used for selfish reasons there. There's no reason any country with oil should have starving people.

The USA needs change, as in updating their systems, political and economic. They had an almost free ride versus the rest of the world in the 20th century ! But now things are different - the BRIC countries are putting in some stiff competition.

The Dems and Reps are using the same old remedies and they are NOT going to work as they used to.

Neither party really have much of an idea of what to do. So if you want change for the better vote something else and shake the Dems and Reps out of their mental stagnation.

Romney continues to contradict himself every-time he gets on t.v. It's pretty sad how people say that Obama and Americans are dependent on the Government. Hmmmmm I don't ever remember talking to anyone that says being on food stamps is a socially acceptable thing. Actually people on food stamps are looked at as if they were rats and it is quite embarrassing to go to a grocery store and have to use food stamps. We have a serious problem in America with poverty and were not talking about the middle class people who have dipped into poverty but the lifetime citizens that we have in poverty. We have a for profit prison population that is out of control, justice system that is biased and drug laws that are completely ridiculous. Most people with sense understand that Romney has 0% chance of beating Obama. People are listening to all of these polls and nonsense and their just not accurate. Media has a good way of skewing things and they did the same with Obama & McCain election. So in a nut shell Romney has some serious social issues when it comes to connecting with people he deems to be dependent on government and that's just a really huge problem for Americans. He is doing the same-thing John Kerry did against Bush...BIG PLANS AND NO SPECIFICS.

Psyched about stocks? Vote Romney. Bullish on bonds? Back Obama.
Stocks would get a bounce from a Mitt Romney victory in Tuesday’s presidential election, while bonds would benefit from Barack Obama winning a second term, analysts say.

Stocks would rise on Romney win; bonds, Obama

In the event of an Obama win, look for investors to pour money into bonds. An Obama victory would send yields on U.S. 10-year Treasurys to 1.5% or lower from about 1.7% now, Barclays analysts wrote, as worries related to the “fiscal cliff” pick up. If Romney wins, some observers believe it’s more likely that the fiscal cliff — expiring Bush-era tax cuts and automatic spending cuts — would be temporarily extended.

How Presidential Elections Could Affect The USD?
Looking ahead, the U.S. Presidential elections could affect financial assets. In this regard, the Danske Bank team argues that in the short term, the probability of a smooth disarming of the fiscal cliff is seen as essential for risk markets. "A split congress is the most likely outcome (Base case: Barack Obama wins with a split congress. Risk 2 case: Mitt Romney wins with a split congress) and the outcome that would be a key near-term challenge for risk markets and supportive of government bonds and the USD."
However, besides the fiscal cliff, there are many unanswered questions for investors when it comes to the medium-term consequences of the U.S. elections, including monetary policy and regulation policies, that could bring some volatility for the USD.

It looks like Obama solidly has it.

A candidate needs to win 270 electoral votes to win, and the poll showed Obama likely having 303, compared with 191 for Romney. See: Obama opens lead in latest projected poll.

The New York Times gave a slightly different electoral count, but also said of 22 polls in swing states on Friday, only one favored Romney and two were a tie. See New York Times: Obama favored over Romney in swing state polls.

I'm not naive to think big corporations don't have plenty of influence. They do spend big bucks on lobbying and do get their way in lots of cases. But I also think it's cynical to believe that the whole world is one big charade as you are making it out to be. Yes the world is full of evil, greed and corporations. That doesn't mean everything is some secret zionist conspiracy.

You're getting way ahead of yourself and placing words and thoughts as mine that I've never said. I never said anything about a "secret zionist conspiracy" or anything in that nature. All I said was that the corporate world controls America. This is a fact that you must understand, because what you want to hear and what reality is, are two different things. Trust me, I've personally spoken to a U.S. senator whom a close relative used to work for. I can assure you that policitians have very little to do with anything regarding making laws and governing a nation. It's not a conspiracy, nothing or no one is being conspired against, it's just how the American branches of govt operate.

(i know you'll take this out of context but)
Some people need them. in fact this shouldn't even be an issue in an advanced society that has machines to do the work - we just have a very bad concept at this time. People have pets and they never worry about what jobs they should make their "slave" pets do for a bite to eat - we shouldn't feel that way about pets - dog and cats are hardly rats - they have an appetite like anything else but somehow a needy human is seen as the devil.

The day of the hunt has been ruined by massive cities so it's only appropriate that the government compensate those that have a tougher time getting buy which is always going to be some percentage of people as a consequence of the fixed scenario. Most of the day revolved around hunting in the old world.

In fact the richer I become the more I actually understand this. A rich person should always donate to charities. Why is it we have people that have billions of dollars but people that live out of dumpsters and no opportunity in life? It just isn't right. If anything the rich one's that never donate are the rats.

I agree and was talking from experience. My mother was a single mom of 2 and moved to California to start a life and get her education. Unfortunately it cost an arm and a leg to live out there so she had to get help from the State. I remember how embarrassed I use to feel and how my peers spoke of people who were receiving food stamps as if they were scum. At the end of the day my mother was able to obtain a masters degree and move on from that but it was an experience.
