nfp week ; so i guess a tight range this week.

You're looking at where the POC is and what's the spread of the value area (where 70% of the trading happened). You're also looking at where the VA is in relation to the previous ones.. You also pay attention to where the buying / selling happens (above /below the current VA).. If that's the case, the big money is moving the price to another level where they're gonna build another POC (ranging).

The tendency is the price to be bought/sold around...

so basicaly enter @ second failure on the same given line?

hmm... yes.. whatever your systems says.. I was just trying to put a little framework around his question.. The way I do it with my levels (and they are not derived as I described in the example before) is kind of like this..

Let's say I'm looking for short because the higher TF is moving down. So I look to either a move up on the lower TF with let's say a failure to close (twice) above it's corresponding level or a close above, a close below and a retest without a close above then I go short with the SL above the last high (the close above candle)..

For continuation I want preferably 2 closes or a close and a retest with failure (that would make 2 closes btw).. I like the retest of the level because it gives a better entry and if I feel confident I take it right there..

i have a big question to ask as a beginner..why today people make prediction about the EUR/USD values using charts and indicators?There is a big hurricane is entering USA and EUR/USD will definitely go up.sometimes this will go to 1.3100 level

This is very interesting Attila - but if you dont mind me asking, which tf you mean when you say lower tf? Or is there not a specific one you use?

No specific one.. It's up to your preference.... 2 things are important here.. If the market is slow or turning then the lower TFs take precedence.. When it's fast and trending, forget about them and move up TFs..

When it's ranging like now, look at higher TFs... they just sit there frozen while the lower ones are moving up/down.. So there's no point of taking a SL/TP on the higher ones because we don't know which way they're gonna go (for immediate trading purposes).. Keep in mind their general direction (which is down atm) though and trade that direction if you want to be safer.

This might not work in the end, but it allows for a very tight SL.. had a close above, then another one with a retest of the level... We'll see how it goes.. TP is up the next level..
