Gann PVS (Price vibration System) Trading

Hi.
No they do not. The auto calcs of the indi and an observation by another trader showed up the discrepancies in the spreadsheet. For those that are using the new spreadsheet, you will notice that a few of the data boxes are grey and not green. These are the cells that are incorrect in the original spreadsheet.

I am rethinking the approach taken initially with the vertical cycle lines as the data plots of another approach are leading towards a better timing outcome. It will take a little while to finish though. For interests sake the data plot pic is below as is an initial time plot on a daily chart. For those that know Gann, they will not be surprised by the plots.

Hi Brooky,

Like the look of the new vertical cycle lines, if they tie up with the Gann S/R lines trading takes on a new dimension. Little bit of common sense on the money management front and we may yet make a decent number of pips.

Hi All.
The indicator attached can be simply used to calculate bars spanned, or in context of this thread, it will calculate the Degrees of the bars spanned and the pips covered by the range if you want.

If you load it onto a chart, you can just park it out of the way in a corner until you need it again.

When you load it, just double click on the rectangle and use the grab handles to push n pull it around.

Some may want to position it in a Gannish spot as calculated by the angles and then manually draw some lines, fans cycles etc over/relevant to it, so it could be a handy addition to the ol tool chest for a variety of reasons.

Colors placements sizes etc are all optioned.

Hi Brooky,

You have said that you do not trade using Gann, but you certainly are a friend of all those that do.

Another indicator that will have its uses and with other things, timing etc; that you are investigating as per your quote "I am rethinking the approach taken initially with the vertical cycle lines as the data plots of another approach are leading towards a better timing outcome". All of which will help Gann traders towards better analysis and hopefully some measure of success.

Hi,

Does anyone trade the 15 min TF using Gann. Moneydeeps 360.xls program gives a lowest level of 45deg and this often means that the price trades within two S/R lies for quite a time, resulting a lost opportunity for short term traders when price moves 50pips in an 8hr period.
I would be interested in opinions of those that do or have traded the 15min TF using Ganns method.

It seems to me that except for Brooky and myself, everyone else is either making a killing with the Brooky indicator and don't want to share their results. Have becomed disallusioned with Gann as they don't understand what the heck it's all a about or have passed over to the great void.

Its a shame as with lots of discussion about this very interesting style of trading, we could have had a very viable thread.

I would be delighted to still take part in this thread, but when no one else can be bothered to join in and discuss Gann trading and ask questions which we can all brainstorm or even post their demo trades and research. It does then become very weird with the takers of this world hoping that someone else can provide them with the answer without them lifting a finger to contribute.

I have notice many times that when I have logged on to the thread there is maybe one or two members viewing and three or four more who have not logged in or not yet joined ForexFactory. If some of these invisible viewers would come and join in we may eventually get somewhere.

Now I have mentioned before that it seemed to me that if S/R levels can be mathematically calculated then there should also be a relationship with TIME.
I read the other day on the web of a expectancy that the AUD/USD, which made a high on the 27/07/2011 should make another high on the 26/01/2012, these are calendar dates . As you can see from the Graphic it did'nt but it did make a high 67 days later on the 27/10/2011. Their date was in fact 65 days following the previous high, Whereas the high following their expected date on the 29/02/2012 was 90 days from the previous high.
There are other relationships that fall on or near Gann numbers, in fact the largest error I have found is <1.5%. Starting with the Gann number 11 check multiples of this number up to 800. I checked From Feb 2001 to Feb 2003 -752 Daily Bars, error 0.366%. I suggest that you check them for yourself.

I have also attached a sreenshot of the EUR/USD - 15min Tf which I like to trade and found that these relationships work there as well. I dont claim that they are accurate to the bar, but provide a framework to work within.

Test it and discuss your findings.

I think the problem is that this thread is more like ideas flying round without any consistency. That just scares most people away.

As to the original Excel sheet + indicator based on it, I didn't have time to test it thoroughly, so I can't say if these calculations are consistent enough for me or not. Then again, it would be a totally different matter to actually trade them.

I tried the indicators which Brooky29 did and found that at times the levels are respected. However I do not understand it enough to use it. I hope that moneydeep who started this thread could guide us enough to understand.

Just to let you know that I have been in contact with Brooky recently regarding a query I had. He told me that he has been busy recently but that will be back on the Gann PVS Thread soon, as and when time allows.


I think in the meantime on this thread we owe him an extra shout because to date he has done a great job on this Gann PVS indicator.
