ECN is in no way worse than trading with MM. And you know what the best ever thing is about ECN? No one is messing with your accounts.

Just wondering how FXpro is going to explain these spikes which I do not see on my live Alpari nor on the demo MT4 FXpro account.

I am also playing with xtrader, right now - this platform is a very basic and low-quality stuff:
- can't superimpose one indicator over another, e.g. Trix on Momentum
- can't put any oscillator on a price chart, e.g. Momentum
- can't write my own studies
- no ray / extention of a line
- drawing tools are less than basic
- only time resolutions are available (no volume, tick, range, renko and other bar resolutions possible)
- can't create non-standard time resolutions, e.g. 55 second bars
- can't backtest and optimize, not to mention doing...

em not really? how's the mt4 ea case above has to do anything with chart data on xTrader that has been discussed?

that was simply because of liquidity out there(same chart messing at mbt etc)

A true unfiltered price feed may see spikes, depending on what the actual market is doing. The spreads are generally lower overall, but are not guaranteed to be that way all the time. You get what the market gives you.

The market is not centralized, like futures/commodities where everyone gets the same price feed from the same exchange. There are multiple variables that can cause the spikes from each of the brokers.

edit: The link was interesting. At least they were honest about their MM platform.

im over two weeks on their demo now,and the platform seems grand and proper ecn,and they started making updates to it,and as some complained about it being basic,i wouldnt really care for its charting capabilities as theres plenty of free software and brokers that give mt4 for all the charting stuff and indicators.

Indeed, it is now cTrader, looks pretty good, has everything I, me, myself need to trade the way I trade. Execution is instant and spreads are good.

It was true ecn for sure, I gave them a try couple of months ago. But now something is going wrong with cTrader. No commission for traders and 1 pip commission for FxPro IBs. Sounds like a bucket shop disguised as an ECN.

By the way MB trading, a reliable US forex broker regulated by NFA and CFTC announced no commission ECN trading too.

Yes, I received an email from FxPro saying as of 12pm GMT (the other day), they were getting rid of commissions and making us pay the spreads, which have also gone up to never below 2.5.

I emailed them asking why they did this and the reply I got was 'We are always looking out for our clients best interests...bla...bla...'.

Strange, I thought a real and true ECN only made money off the commission?

Also, can anyone recommend me a TRUE ECN? thanks
