uhh i think you mistook my post. I said QE will not happen unless persistent deflation state is present. I didnt say that there hasnt been any inflation, as you implied.

Where else would you put your monies?

- German bonds are rock solid but are a fraction of the size of the US bond market.

- Chinese bonds? Japanese bonds? LOL ... in any case they again are too small and not enough liquidity.

- By law in the US pension funds, insurance companies, banks can hold US bonds as collateral regardless of their rating.

Like I said in a risk off investors would dump their risker assets like commodity currencies, equities etc and channel all that in US bonds.

Remember this is a technical default not a fundamental default (like the Greeks would be if the Germans didn't bail them out)

Actually, it sounds like people think that default is the end. They might default and still raise the ceiling the following day. They don't need to print money. When they reach their credit limit, they just add to it. Which they will do eventually.

the people who think that default is the end of the world are just the sheeple who actually listen and believe MSM and politicians. these people are very foolish and most of them are uneducated. a large default would be the best thing that could happen to the US.
