Hello I'm having a problem Metatrader's optimizer and I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem or has any idea why its happening.

Basically I run my genetic optimizer and after about 10 minutes, it finds an a good set of variables. This set of variables typically gives me a profit of $150 dollars and 10% max drawdown.

So then I double-click on this top entry to backtest it. Double-clicking loads those variables into the backtester and I have verified this. However, when I do the backtest, I get completely different results. Usually I get a losing scenario, instead of profit around $150 and 10% max drawdown.

I'm optimizing and backtesting over Open Prices Only and I have all the data over the period that I'm testing over.

I've been making EAs with metatrader for the last 4 years and the backtester never acted this way till just a few weeks ago.

Does anyone have any clue what could cause this?

Hi Aicccia,
on the tester, you must open symbol properties for see the actual spread (that is always different depending on daily close) that's the reason!
