Just closed two shorts,....1.( 1.3110 ) 2.( 1.3034 ),.....@ 1.3021

+ 89pips +13pips = 102 pips

Can someone point me to a good writeup on trading the NFP? I understand it at a very basic level but I am interested in learning the nuances too.

Like the last NFP, there was massive uptrend in EURUSD in the hours leading up to the NFP announcement (I didn't understand why this happened). NFP numbers were good so the EUR took a huge plunge (this bit I understood) and then an hour or so later the price moved sharply up all the way to pre-NFP levels (I didn't understand this one either).

As far as I can remember there was no other news affecting the EURUSD pair during that time period, so I am at a lost to explain the pre and post NFP prices.

Thanks in advance.

Here are the two indicatos. You can modify the period's boundaries in order to fit your timezone. Mine is EST+7hours.

You must place both of them on your charts, as the first one colors bars from the European session and the second one colors bars from the US session.

The indicators are most useful on 1 min charts and 5 min charts. But they can also be displayed on 15 min charts. Above that time-frame they become useless.

why would you want that waste of time on your chart?
amazes me this thread how useless it is.

I find it great entertainment. Theres one person and maybe a handful of others that have a clue here.

The market depth i got only shows the top of book so I only see a few of the orders coming ,but as soon as the orders are executed they do appear on the time and sales.
making green pips large and red pips small this is my goal.

errrm, so you can identify ranges by session, with just a quick glance at the chart, maybe??
