CodeMeister is correct.

This is not possible without rewriting the script to use the Windows API file I/O rather than MQL4 File commands. (See here and here for more info).

The simplest way is to copy the files manually to whatever folder you wish.

if your disk was formatted with NTFS you can simply place a symlink (or a junction point in versions older than vista) inside the files folder that points to somewhere else or even make the entire files folder a symlink. This is a convenient method to break this jail.

(CurrencyPair) remains the same, but may also use the symbols reversed, eg AUDGBP

the other parameters will remain the same, the big change will be the result. see below.

CurrencyPair = AUDUSD, AUDJPY, GBPAUD, EURAUD, AUDNZD, AUDCHF, AUDCAD
Timeframe = M1
= D'2010 .11.19 FromDateTime 01:21 ';
= D'2010 .11.19 ThruDateTime 02:40 ';
NumBars = 9999;
AscDesc = "D";
Separator = "";
DateTimeFmt = "M-D-Y, H: I";

Hi Hanover,
I'm a newbie so please forgive any obvious questions! I have the indicator working and saving individual csv files for each currency with EOD daily high & Lows , but what I would like is to save this data for all currencies to one csv file. Is that possible? Basically I think I need to know what to write in the output file parameter box. Thanks for the time spent in writing the indicator and for your advice.

Sorry, I'm not considering any more updates to this indicator, at least in the meantime. Too busy with other work.

The MQ4 source is available (post #47) if anybody else wants to tackle it.

If you specify an output file (e.g. OutputFile = ALL.CSV), then all output will be directed to that file.

Specify multiple pairs like this:
CurrencyPairs = EU,GU,UJ
or this:
CurrencyPairs = EURUSD,GBPUSD,USDJPY

thank you very much for this great indicator.

When I export currency history data everything works great, but on indexes and possibly also on different stocks, the indicator seemingly plots max. 3 digits on the left.

Although I am not a programmer, I found due to the well commented code the lines regarding this, if I am not mistaken. Nevertheless I wasn't able to change the lines so that I receive the correct prices for the index.

E.g. for the DAX_30 on a daily basis, I receive this history line from the history center:

2012.02.13,00:00,6740.0,6775.3,6709.8,6750.0,21105

,and this line from the indicator:

02-13-2012,00:00,740.00000,775.30000,709.80000,750.00000,21105

May I ask you for support?

that line fucks it up. it's up to you to change it to something like T9.9 .

90% of the code should be binned as unnecessary bloatware.

...... change the number after the decimal point to whatever you want it to be. i said 9.9 only as an exaggerated example.

now I understand.

The 9.9 is seperated and means: 9 digits prior to the decimal point and the 9 after the . is meant for 9 digits after the decimal point.

Guilty for the umpteenth time, no doubt; it's all too easy to let the compiler strip out the uncalled modules.

For example, instead of having the EOD data on a close to close basis at 0:00, I would like to have it shifted prior to this time, e.g. from 20:00 to 20:00 or so.

Is that possible at all and could it be implemented in the ExportHistory indicator?

Just to make sure I understand correctly: you mean that you want the OHLC prices just as if the day begins/ends at 20:00 (or some other time) instead of 00:00 (midnight)?

If so, then it would be possible to modify the ExportHistory indicator to read intraday (e.g. hourly) candles and output OHLC values based on the open, high, low and close across each group of 24 consecutive candles. However, you would need to define how you wanted gaps (i.e. weekends) to be handled. In other words, some intervals from 20:00 hours to 20:00 hours would consist of less than 24 candles.

You also need to decide how you want the output date-stamped, e.g. does Monday 20:00 to Tuesday 20:00 represent Monday or Tuesday?

Depending on the answers to the above questions, it might not necessarily be a trivial job, and I'm very busy with other programming work at the moment. The source code is available is any other programmer wishes to attempt it.

Just a thought: A simpler way might be to find a br0ker MT4 whose daily candles begin/end on the hour that meets your requirement.

If you are exporting the data to Excel, you could export hourly candles, and use Excel's functions and facilities to group/summarize every 24 rows of data.
