The shape and inside sequence looks right to me so far, so I would say yes it has the potential to be one at this stage. However we won't know for sure until the upper border has been touched and broken. That looks like EU if I'm not mistaken.

Because the main diagonal is pointing to the downside, it is more likely the brake will be on the upside, but from this perspective what if lower border gets broken? That is still a valid pattern?
Yes it is eur/usd.

I am learning everything from you. I sincerely appreciate your help and contribution to this thread.

Can you please share me your indicator of painting each half day of the trading session in different color?

I am looking for an indicator that could paint three different session in different color, but so far i only found the one with rectangle over each session, which is quite eye disturbing. Then I saw your posted picture has concise drawings: one color represent a half session. and would really appreciate if you could share with me.

I'm using gabs indicator which paints each trading day/week/month/year in separate color. He has them posted somewhere so you need to check his profile for directions. Thank you for the kind words and good luck.

According to what I've learned in this thread, usually the break will occur in the direction opposite of the main diagonal. In this example, the upside would be the expected outcome. Is the pattern valid in the case of the break happening on the downside? Very good question, TBH I don't have the answer for that. Anyone care to provide a definitive answer for this question?


My own view is if this looked like happening, I would reassess the pattern, as the market could be forming something else, so maybe the diamond becomes invalid. We'd only know when PA breaks the lower border, if that were to happen. There is still some unpaid divs down below, so a reversal wouldn't be out of the question in my opinion. We just gotta keep an open mind, watch PA and see what happens

I find them interesting but for some time now I have not been looking for diamond patterns forming. Your one looked so good to me I decided to try it out and earlier today I entered a buy trade with a t/p at the top rh line, my s/l is now at b/e.
As niteshift02 mentions, the main diagonal is downward sloping so the breakout should be to the upside - let's see.

Nice chart gabs, thanks . So going by this morning's PA, a dual diagonal could well be forming as we can see. We'd also get a fourth touch on the lower TL if price continues downwards.

DJI diamond broke into continuation thus changing main move of the year to up. For now the next reasonable target is located around 11900 and most likely to be reached until the end of the year IMHO.

Is it now the time to buy yourself a whole lot of dollars? I'm referring of course to the dollar index diamond you have posted a while back. I think we are playing with it's lower border at the moment... Or does the technical picture has changed enough for you to change your mind?

Hi OGW,
As you see price has filled its yearly range a few moments ago breaking the diamond into continuation so a new low is most likely to be expected. Although I can draw another border that hasn't been broken yet, but doesn't make much sense, except that yearly range has been completed. Its just analysis and not a trading plan. Best money is made using the precious little things called the templates
