Hey blue,
Are you still interested in coding this? It would sure cut down on the work in back testing. Plus we could optimize the TP and SL for each pair. If you have any questions on the entries let me know before you would start coding. thanks
I fully understand that NB system is a counter trend type of methodology.

However, have you looked at adding a final rule being....

1. NB system gives a buy setup then makesure the price is > Daily 200 EMA.
2. NB system gives a sell setup then makesure the price is < Daily 200 EMA.

It may help with some of the pairs (EURCAD, EURAUD, EURNZD) that then go on long trends etc.

Ok i havent been using the optimizer have just been advancing the charts I will try and use it see how much im off by eyeball.

I understand how the bbands move your right for the entries.

Thanks for the info on EU looks promising for sure. I like the idea of stops then I am better able to calculate my risk so with 1:1 if i risk 2 % i will either gain or lose that amount for that trade.

I am going to add a little extra in my back testing since Im at it to try and maximize gains. I am going to test the 100/100 and also moving stop to be and taking 80% profit at 100 and let 20 % run I nav not come up with a target as of yet this may or may not give us a little extra. I like having a free trade but it may not work too great on GU as it like to range but we will see I will report my findings.

The only other thing I was thinking for testing if using eyeball is go back to bobs 1/3 ma cross for entry when price is at or above the gold line not sure it this is easier. If Im right I think there is an ea for order entry using this method?

I am guessing you are a dentist! haha... Brilliant I know.

Anyways, the EA could easily be created from some of Steve's EA's thus far and honestly I have been busy this weekend being SICK and barely having the wherewithal to think well enough to code anything.

I suggest we get Steve or Mart to do something on this because:

A) they could expand upon it with better code
B) They are in process already of doing it and I would be doing double work

I kind of already have this working, but again, I am not full recovered, so sorry...

Steve is the guy I think.

P.S. I was living in Boulder for 6 months, it is a nice place. Now in San Diego....

Yes, 1x3 is smart. On another EA I programed, I did a ton of optimization on 120 bars etc.. and 1x3 had by far larger drawdowns, but double the profit and it does keep you out of a lot of false moves.

So, my point is, after 10 years of testing on several currencies, 1x3 was better than 1x6 and 1x10...

I haven't read the thread, so forgive gaps in my knowledge. As I said in response to a pm yesterday, I can code robots or I can read threads; I cannot do both.

This is some of what Toothy sent me:

On t'other hand, can you simply not use the tp/sl facilities of NB and turn off everythin you do not need? I tried to make everything a user option.

yeah that would be a full-automatic EA.... let's see how it will work...

Thanks for the advice Scoobs, will give it a try. NB has changed my trading life and outlook for ever. These past months has been the only time I have made profit in forex and all of it is thanks to BOB`s system. I am fortunate in that my profits of the last few months more than compensates for any DD due to recent movements (so I am not losing any sleep and my blood pressure is well under control).

However, having said we seem to be getting these runners almost very 4 to 5 weeks and would be good if we could somehow limit the damage they can cause. TOOTHMAN and BLUEMELE are doing fantastic job in trying to come up with alternatives. Anything which would limit the DD would be a great enhancement to the system.

What I mean is this. So far as I can tell, NB EA is already configured to allow you to trade as you wish if you set the inputs correctly.

NB EA's have to be applied to a chart when you see certain conditions as you know. What we're after is an EA you would always have on all your charts that would automatically enter when:

It seems to me that the auto-trader has everything you need already. Go birdy if this is not so.

I have the bot on a demo and it's made it's first trade already. I'll have to play with the settings awhile until I get it to do exactly what I'm after. You are the man when it comes to coding. One question though, Is the bot considering the RWB lines and whether they are at extremes before initiating the trade? Or is it just looking at price in relation to the green/gold lines and Bol. bands. thanks

edit: I'm pretty sure it does consider the RWB lines as it displays their values in the trade info in the corner.
I need a totally automated system - that is, an EA - because I'm just not good at manual trading, or even semi-manual trading.
