Can someone please confirm for me if this is a 18.4 template? I am still not too sure about this setup.

I took the short at the red arrow around the day's opening price at 1.4460, stop above the day's high, and profit near 1.4350.

Hi Nokaut. I happen to have a few mins break from my intra-day trading so will try to answer your question. The template says that entry must be 30 pips ahead of the day high or low. Sl too wide in this case. Entry time must be late European session and/or NY session. No criteria meets the requirements so it's not a 18.4 short signal. Hope that helps

Thanks very much for your time. I am very grateful. I guess my overiding question would be, why 30 pips? I did read Igrok's description of 18.4 but I was a bit confused, so I decided to just focus on the two picture examples in his book, both of which appear to trigger on a return to the day's open price. Can I just clarify if the 18.4 trade is triggered at the open price? Hate to ask too many questions, but this one got me stumped. All the best.

Default entry is 30 pips ahead of day high or low. Sometimes even less. Although I do take open price under consideration from time to time when market structure favours it, but I never base my entries solely on the return to the open. Take your time to study the templates and the thread with all the massive collection of samples we have put over time and you will understand the idea alot better

Hello Mr. Toshchakov,

Long time we don't hear from you. Hope you are busy, making money and/or preparing a very special book for us all. ;-)

Now, I am getting double diagonal diamonds pictures on both USDx and fiber. I know these (USDx and fiber) are pretty much inversely correlated.

I am also getting divergences (h4 and daily). USDx has bearish divergences pointing towards 82.90 on h4 and there's an unfulfilled div. on daily pointing towards 79.62.

Fiber has the very same opposite picture. Bullish divergences: h4 pointing towards 1.3094 and daily towards 1.3782.

My question is: reversal signs under way? That is what I might expect from what I see on those charts. However, like you have mentioned a few times, double diagonal diamonds are hard to predict. But can those divergences be indicative of anything in this particular scenario?

Eur/jpy have quadruple divergence on 4h. We need no shaman to guess the outcome here. Shall we see an euro correction in the very near future?

There is validity to the pattern but the oil momentum is going up. See how it work out...plus Aud main move for week has changed.

When AR is already filled like in this case 127% I never use 18.4 template as it makes 0 sense to me.
