FXCM Update:

Can connect but now a new issue - in order window, you can not pick any pair since pairs dropdown is - empty

Up now...but slow motion mode... and the worst is stops & limit were disable...thanks god the prices didn't move a lot during this period

mine is down right now....i am not happy with them lately, Ive written a slew of emails calling them out on their dodgy software and connection issues as well as bad slippage ive been getting....its very unprofessional and it doesnt look good for them as they are looking to expand their business. This is not acceptable. I may be moving my acct to dukascopy faster than i want to.

I applied for an internship there for the summer, if i get it ill be sure to fix the problems

Sigh! My 2 of my 3 short trades got closed out at $0 as it suddenly shot past the 1.23 and 1.235 levels... at one point I was actually sitting at a 600 pip gain today in total... now i'm only left with a 70 pip open gain from my 1.241 short... so unpredictable! Only consolation is no losses incurred as I moved all my stop losses to breakeven levels... but still! What a waste

Sucks, eh? I'm with them too with a TON of $ in open profit, but I couldn't get in or out if I wanted to.

FXCM really needs to hire some pro IT people instead of hiring cheap entry levels

They use Boston Trade Tech which has ALWAYS sucked. I don't mean to blow my own horn, but a group I work with has developed a seamless and FAST bridge to use with metatrader to pass trades through to an liquidity provider. My point is not that our group, nor our programmers are rocket scientists. Truth be told it wasn't THAT difficult. So just how bad BTT is and why FXCM would go with them is doubly confusing to me.

I realize FXCM is down altogether (not just MT4) but their MT4 is horrible. When I asked one of their reps (who admitted it was dodgy at best) why in the hell they'd release MT4 if it was so dodgy, his reply was... well our customers wanted it. A shitty reason at best.

Keep an eye on price and one hand on the phone. You should be able to open/close trades by telephone.

I think P.A. is waiting to what ECB President Trichet has to say about the crisis. I will be caught in a bad place when that happens, in about 10 minutes.

Dukas will be releasing MT4 soon I've heard.

That's most likely the case, but who knows maybe they do have the right people, just not the best intentions??
