I remember China reversed its decision to ban short selling in 1998 during the Asian Financial Crisis. The stocks shot up. And during the recession in the US, they lifted the ban on short selling bank stocks. Of course, around that time Citigroup announced a profit so that changed the percetpion at the time.

There's always a chance Germany will change their mind. As a matter of fact, I wonder if they'll do it tomorrow.

In my opinion euro goes to 2130 -2136 than up -will see how many pips up. But finally looks like against europe euro getting week. More & more. Direction is 2000 -2100. First direction. Of course not straight -with retracements.

ive gotta similar chart that says down to that area around 1.1650....i think 1.1850 area may be next stop. It could blow right through the 50 fib then use it as resistance for shorts to dump eu! i mean hell, it doesnt look like its being defended too heavily. Like jamie coleman from forexlive said eu politicians were saying they wont get concerned before euro gets to birth levels around 1.18, about how those politicians were just asking speculators to drive it down there....

You have to wonder at the motive that drove Germany to impose this ban? Is is just a tool to use to manipulate the market to give a boost to EU exports? If so, how long do they imagine they can hold it? After all, having a currency of such little value is great for their exports, but they also have to import.....and those imports must be getting very, very expensive by now.

Many people expected the euro to end up down here, or lower, so I think it might have been a silly move from Germany to ban the short selling when they knew full well the consequences.

So, what *really* drove them to do it?....hmmmm.....

USD strength shown obviously in this pair.....gives you a hint on where euro is headed. Classic pattern, strong trendline, big fib level....unless the money fairy starts pumping risk back up this thing is headed straight for 8375-50 area....

I should read more carefully your post.
I was “flying” and not paid attention and I missed the train.
I had a short from early Monday (1.229) , holding a losing position while it bounce to 1.244)
I was crossing fingers, waiting it comes back to break even.
before that, and I closed with – 20 pips.
an hour later it dropped to 1.21.

My question now is:

bounce back to 1,231 before fall to 1.212?
what will be our next short point?
I my poor analisys anyone know.
If i wait a bounce to 1,231, I may wait it forever and I will miss the train again.
so, we depends on support at 1,215 what can bounce or brake.

skeeter.....i was talking about au headed to 8375-50 area....look how dollar strength is starting to pick up....this is not just euro weakness anymore was this gold pullback the start of the real deal?
