Some people have said that the whole Eurozone could become nationalized but that means transfering money from the north to the south and we know that Germany apparently does not want to do that. I heard on Bloomberg that the tough decisons that Europe could make are not ones they want to make for political reasons. So, they may not do them. Of course, I think maybe at the last minute when Europe is about to crack, they may come out with radical solutions like taking over the finances of countries like Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Greece and Spain.

Well

I am looking for a close below 2663 in this new 4H candle. If not then next candle has 2643 as significant number to close below.

As usual first target for price 2580. Then watching for a close below it on 4H and then daily.

Technical signals have to align with fundamentals. In case of USD technicals are bullish whereas fundamentals are obviously bearish. You do need 2 to match, otherwise you will be selling when price is climbing and taking heat unnecessarily.

Maybe Sterling should be combined with Euro. Forgive my limited knowledge, Britain is part of the so called Europe?

Sure was fun to watch though. And cathartic. Just lost a few pips trying to play the bounce off 2709 from about 20" ago. figured we'd go back down to that m5 triangle several here have mentioned.

What do you mean "should"? We are part of the EU, yet it is a choice whether to be or not to be in the currency union. It's not better for us to be part of Euro, because we would lose monetary rights for starters. Look, there shouldn't have even been a bailout, how dare they pressure UK to help bail them out, when they are breaking their own laws?!!

The most intelligent decision of UK was to keep to their currency.

I still dont understand how in the world do you manage finances of a Euro-zone without any political power? Every business man knows autonomy is well and good but if things go wrong, One person/part should have enough power to be able to cut the loss or make changes.

Here we have a bunch of financial people, a lot of politicians, and a culturally diverse people, trying to work together without anyone having clear powers. The politicians can blame each other, the financial people can blame "global slowdown", no power to take final decisions because hey its the politicians who will need to implement them.


All in all, its a never ending merry go-round with entropy at work.

The author of this post is a friend. Very little financial understanding but his logic surprised me because I tend to agree with it.

No. We have no government, yet. We have a huge deficit problem. So fundamentally GBP is bearish, technicals confirm fundamentals. But markets are waiting on election results. If Concervatives win, they are expected to introduce massive cuts to spending, so GBP may bounce on news, if Labour get in GBP is expected to tank.

What? How can a socialist country use it when it requires relatively capitalistic markets? Like I said, public healthcare is subsided mainly by the rich and upper-middle class. It's a socialist setup applied to a capitalist system. Most of the West is semi-socialist nowdays.

No the relative gains are not the same, which is why I stated they were relative. If my country's market crashes and I've shorted it, my gain relative to my community is much greater than a foreigner would experience among their own community.
