In Forex English a spread is the difference between bid and ask.

You're talking about a range or width when you are referring to forex.. we are not in futures here, its forex!

Come-on people, you're so easily influenced makes me wonder sometimes.

For those that are too young to know, forex as is now, was not invented when williams was trading so he can't know the language.

The language you're using belongs to the stock and futures markets.

leave it where it belongs, even if you want to follow everything else without further thought.

Not having a go at you personally buddy but I have stepped back in time 20 years here reading about this stuff and it's bugging me.

Technically you are right but it's dangerous to buy or sell based on a 15m data when such significant facts is near: double top and highest high from almost 2 month.
my thoughts exactly, a trade not taken is a trade not lost.

I was watching the price action and it seemed pretty touch and go, I would not have been surprised if we had seen it drop like a brick.

What is your problem? Semantics? Get over it.

VSA has been around since the early 1900's so the words are fairly well entrenched. We are here to discuss VSA, terms and all. If you start deviating from the standard naming conventions you will just add more confusion.

Sorry if this sounds standoffish it's not meant that way.

I mentioned this in the chat already but this is for those that hang out here...

I have some excellent news to report to all of you. I received an email from Chuck (TwoBuckChuck) and... HE'S ALIVE!

He's had a really horrible time since the accident but the good news is he is ok and recovering.

I hope to find out more later tonight. I will post an update later if I hear back from him or perhaps he will come on to say Hi.

Mate.. it is your thread and you have my respect for inspiring it.

My take is simply this, if those guys cannot learn to evaluate a situation and they are trading forex like sheep, they will be another negative statistic.

They have a brain no doubt.. but it is equally clear they have not learned to question things that are not right.

Now I going to ask your motivation because that is who I am and you must know some of this stuff is not right.

This is a package (a good one overall) of established forex trading strategies sold as a NEW system and disguised with new/old words and bar charts.

Do you benefit in anyway financially from the active promotion of the system as is in this thread?

If not, you owe it to the inexperienced people here to explain what they are trading and how it has been applied to forex since its inception.

This is my biggest problem with VSA.

If you believe that a chart never lies (Gavin believes this as I do). And if you believe that a chart is a chart is a chart (again Gavin believes this as I do). Then why do you have to look at another timeframe?

The weakness you see on the 15 minute MUST exist because a chart never lies. Due to the fractal nature of markets, you can take two charts without the scale and you cannot determine timeframes based on price movement itself. Taking it one step further, you could take two separate instruments without the scale and you could not tell the difference. In other words, a chart is a chart.

If a chart is a chart, then the weakness found on the 15 minute GBP is as valid as the weakness found on any other chart or timeframe.

Some say the 80-90% of the volume bar being professional money is a tenet that does not hold up and thus VSA falls apart. On this I disagree.

I say that if you must use multiple timeframes after decrying that a chart never lies and a chart is a chart, then you don't believe your tenets and the whole thing falls apart.

I 've thinking about multiple time-frames for awhile, and have come to
realise that , if you truly understand and can read a chart during
accumulation and distribution phases. You absolutely do not need to
look at or watch other timeframes.

The phase/process will do exactly what it does. From the beginning to
the end of the phase...

Agreed.

I will admit that a "move" will last longer/be more pronounced if it is in agreement on 3 or 4 timeframes. But if this is the argument for using multiple timeframes, it seems to me an issue of greed.

If one argues that the multiple timeframes allows for greater assurance before entering a trade, this seems to be an issue of fear.

And if a trader is being controled by issues of greed and fear, the battle is already lost...........

Can you elaborate on this point as it makes no sense in the context of this conversation.

Again... there is no "System" in this thread... See my response below.

I have spoken many times in the chat about the differences between stock and forex vsa trading and my disdain for certain things such as accumulation and distribution which in the true sense (vsa wise) is not possible to identify in forex. It's simply a ranging market. I ignore these topics (as should you) when they come up.


PS VSA is not a system nor is it new. VSA is a method of trading that was originally developed using ticker tape in the early 1900's (Yes the early1900's) and modernized somewhat in the 70's.

Furthermore The resources in this thread are free and apart from meeting a lot of great people both here and in the chat I have not benefited from this thread....

One more outburst like that and I swing the hammer... LOL

Simply put the answers is yes to the 3 question. Do also take note of pickup of strengths after test, lower timeframe (15 or 5) may give you an earlier signs of these because sometimes they are hidden.

EDIT: Just to add to the point on the use of lower timeframe & what i mean hidden. To me lower timeframe does not mean more or less noise(yes noise could be prevalent in most cases). I see it as a way to break down a bar into smaller pieces depending on period of volatility e.g. A 1hr shakeout bar may consist of a test follow by a shake-out & rush of demand, in a 15mins bar, but all is hidden inside a 1hr bar. So the term hidden is what i meant.

As for break out of test, I think is a general technique use by traders, vsa or not. e.g. Break of a downbar on an uptrend or break of a upbar in downtrend.
