Hello, I have a question regarding to how many hedge trades the ea opens. I changed the percent loss down to 2% to see what happens. The hedging now is kicking in like every one minute. Should there be a limit put in to how many heding positions to open?
I returned the percent loss to 5% since it was opening so many trades. Not sure if this is the same situation that was described in post by Jezza ?

The code isn't correct yet. I will keep on looking at it.

This system seems to have evolved some what from the original methodology.

However, you must remember that there will come times in the market when Central Banks will try to devalue the Yen or GBP, USD, EUR etc. If you happen to be on the wrong side of the trade then you will need to have allot of Margin available to ride out the market manipulations. This is especially true of the XXXJPY pairs as they are extremely volatile and have very high daily ranges.

Trying to run this with a $100, $200, $300 etc account will end up in you wearing several nappies. You will have allot of short term gains and this will lead you into a false sense of security. When the reverse killer intervention comes, it will come BIG. This recently happened with the Bank of Thailand spending $800 Million in less than 2 hours trying to devalue the Yen. Long term they failed but in the meantime allot of small retail traders would have been blown out of the water.

This system was adapted from one that large commercial trading floors use but don't forget that they have the necessary margins, knowledge and experience available to make it work.

Just be careful with those coppers.

Thanks Steve. I will load the new OP version immediately.
The ORIGINAL version have some bad sell GY & EY from this morning 07:15 GMT. I change HedgeAtLossPercent to 3 and Percentage to hedge at 10.

Me too. I still have HedgeAtLossPercent at 5, but always did have the percentage at 10. I have 6 GJ hedges open, so I have turned hedging off for now.

Steve, it should be nice to add a parameter "MaxCumulHedgingPcnt" (default=50) to stop adding hedge when this percent is reached. We have to count the numbers of hedges positions, and when this number = MaxCumulHedgingPcnt/PercentageToHedge, stop adding hedges.

Well this 'Opposite' EA is just a bit of fun right now
Don't know if I'm understanding the hedge calculation correctly, but on my chart is currently says 'Hedging is enabled at -12.84'. I'm understanding that this means hedging will kick in when the basket balance reaches this figure? If so, then the hedging isn't working because my basket balance is currently -13.30.
I should point out that this is not the most recently updated version.

Done and added to post 1. I have taken the easy-coding route, and gone for a straight max hedges allowed.

Naughty boys, changing the original settings
I'm in same situation, but still have settings at 5% so it's still ok at the moment.
The other demo is keeping it's profits nicely, with News settings at '2' for medium & high news. This demo didn't take any trades this morning.

Hi,

I am a newbie and have account of 100$ size. Already blowed up with some stupid EAs (:-))

Which robot you will suggest to me to go with. If I can get 2$ a day on 100$ account I am happy with it.

Can I use any of the basket trade robots or is this robot "SteveHopwood's scooby-doo Shag'emAll trading robot" is good for my account size.

Please suggest me some good robots.

Steve, regarding the new 'Opposites' EA, could you not theoretically try this with any 2 pair basket combination?
I mean lets see if this one does anything first, but just wondered.

Yep. Or single pair; triple pair. Anything you want to play with.

Uploaded to post 1 is a version with all chart and timeframe restrictions removed. I haven't tested it yet, but the robot should now open simultaneous buy and sell positions for any pairs you have in PairsToTrade.

Play away to your hearts content and let me know if the orders do not quite get sent as appropriate.
