4 trades placed this morning on EUR/USD & GBP/USD, 2 filled with 15 pips profit each.

We have at the moment 9.00am NY time now we can set our orders is it right?

Set your orders at the close of the 09:00 NY candle, so when the 09:15 candle becomes visable.

Ive been trading a modified version of this system live for 3 months now
with varying degrees of success (most problems to do with position sizing
and money management,but Ill elaborate on what Ive learnt on a later post). My question to this thread is will the US bank holiday affect trading
conditions on monday.Im from oz and I am unsure how big a holiday this is.I managed 4 losing trades on last mondays UK holiday! thanks for any opinions

I wouldn't bother with bank holidays, I stayed out of the UK one and didn't even look at a chart for the day :-)

Forexmason, I have been reading this thread for awhile and have a question for you on when the trades in your pics are placed. What I did was went to dailyfx and opened at netdania free chart and set it to gmt+1 for the time zone. And then looked at the times listed in your pics to the chart. The prices and times match but I have some questions.

Looking at your trades the one listed at 6:26, it looks like the box to match those trades was drawn using 4:00 – 6:00 or 3:00 – 5:00. So it is not using the 14:00 – 16:00 time? Because you would need to use the 14:00 – 16:00 time from the previous day since those trades are early right? Are you using two separate box times or are the times on the orders page from a different time zone? (Also your pic from 9/3 that box looks like it was drawn between 3:00 and 5:00 and the trade at 15:16 on 9/3 matches a box from 13:00-15:00) (all the times in my post are using GMT+1 and the prices on the chart match your trades when I set it to this).

Just wondering if I missed something about using two boxes or am I confused on the time zone difference? Because it almost looks to me like your program is making a box when you first trade around 5:00 and then it make a new box for your 15:00 trades or I am just confused with all the time zone differences?

Are there any particular fields which you do not understand?

Most of the features have obvious intentions, broker time zone, day start hour, look back bars, slippage, etc etc etc.

The ones that might be less obvious are:

Breakout: Enter a number here (can enter a -figure) to adjust where the breakout line sits. This allows you to have the buy/sell orders placed above or below the box edges. For example. The top of the box is at 1.0100, the bottom is at 1.0050 - entering 5 (for example) in this field means that the box will become 5 pips wider at each end, so the orders will be placed at 1.0105 and 1.0045 respectively. Entering a negative figure shortens the box, so the orders will (in the case of -5, and using the above figures) be set at 1.0095 and 1.0055.

OCO: One cancels the other. When a box within your stated perimeters is fully formed the EA enters its buy/sell orders. Turning OCO on means that when trades are taken in one direction on a currency, the orders in the other direction on that currency are canceled. Enter 1, to have this feature on, 0 to switch it off.

Friday off: Stops the EA to trading on Fridays. Enter 1, to have this feature on, 0 to switch it off.

StopLossAddon: Enter a figure here to move the stop loss from the top/bottom of the box. A minus figure will move the stop loss above/below the outside of the box, a positive figure will move it inside the box. So for instance, if the top of the box is at 1.0100, and the bottom is at 1.0050 a stop loss addon of 20 would set the stop loss for a buy transaction at 1.0070, and stop loss for a sell transaction at 1.0080.

UseTrailingStopOnLastOrder: Enter true/false (see below)

TrailingStop: If above is set to true then this applies a training top to the last of your three orders. You set how many points stop should trail by in this field

UpdateToBreakeven: 0 is false, 1 is true. Once it moves the stop loss to the value the buy/sell trade was taken at.

GainForBreakeven: Adding a plus/minus figure here moves the above breakeven to above/below the value the buy/sell trade was taken at.

Please note that this EA does require further testing before using on a live account. I was working with a coder and spelling out the strategy, along with some features I wanted to add to the EA. Pressures of work on both our ends meant that the EA was not fully tested before we had to put it to one side. So there are errors that need some looking into I am sure.

For my part the EA is sitting dormant on my PC, and I don't want it to go to waste. Which is why I wanted to give something back to you guys.

Obviously anyone testing the EA should post errors and fixes as they occur.

Would it be worth having a separate thread for this EA on another part of the forum. So it can be tested and developed separately from the strategy?

Thank you for the explanation.

My issue is: I cannot get the breakeven function to work. I set it to 1, but during testing it does not move orders to break even. I would like to say for example after 10 pips then breakeven +1 pip.

Also the Gainforbreakevenfield will not allow me to enter a plus?

My bad, Im assuming that the break even is linked to the trailing stop therefore only applicable to the last order?

I cant get the last order to break even. What settings would I need to use to have the last trade lock in 1 pip profit once trade 3 has moved 6 pips and then just let the trade run??

max range: 2000
slippage: 0
tp1: 50
tp2: 50
tp3: 50
breakout: 80

no losing trades in 2009, but not so good in 08

I do use two different time frames. Please see this post http://www.forexfactory.com/showpost...postcount=1610 in this post I mean GMT +1 for me in London and GMT+2 for my platform.

Hi I have been manually testing this strategy for approximatley a month and decided to test this EA to see if the results compare to my demo testing.

If i want to trade this on both the Europe open and the US open how does the EA know how to draw the box? Basically which settings would I need to adjust?

At first I mistakenly thought that 'DayStartHour' and 'DayEndHour' were the time I wanted the box drawn, but it appears that isn't correct.

So for tomorrow's testing I've adjusted the these times to match the hours for Europe open-close and the US open-close. Does this sound correct? If so, i'm assuming the EA draws the breakout box from 7am-9am based on whatever hours I put into these 2 fields.... can anyone confirm this?

Which session are you trading? What hours do you enter for the 'DayStartHour' and 'DayEndHour'?

I am trying to test this EA on 6 US pairs for both the Europe open and the US open. However the EA sometimes does not place all the trades and I am not sure why. Anyone else run into this error when running this EA on multiple charts on the same account?.

The last 2 days it has placed 80-90% of the trades for the Eur session but only 10-15% of the trades in the US session. Any thoughts anyone?

Reference the image posted on post 1582, don't you consider the bar which starts at 13:00 (your chart time) / 7.00 AM NY time?

As I look at the chart, the high and low is calculated for bar which START at 13:15 and the bar whihc ends at 15:15. Is that correct?

In that example.. the low of the box is at 1.6374 whereas if we consider the 13:00 START candle, the low would be around 1.6356.
