Enough for GU to climb and max 1.6666 is the most today till next week...Bear continue to complete 1.6050 @ weekly 38,2% next week...

1.6430-1.6400 will be the test today before end week close....

the DOW has everyone foxed - the drop just ain't happening. Every time everyone says that, their timing is off by a few days and the crunch finally happens but late

Same when it went through 14,000

Cramer was creaming his bonce off saying it ain't happening and we are off to the moon. That's enough for most people to sell everything and buy 'DOG' the DOW inverse etf

I am sticking s/l's under everything till i get some put options on

I confess I don't know whether the crunch comes now or at 9700 so as far as forex is concerned, I think I will just do some nano second scalping in both directions until the fog clears

Sitting on a couple shorts for the time, will see what we have by the morning...

Back to basics

Looking at the daily chart, we are still in an uptrend right ?

Trading against the trend is not what we do right ?

So any shorting has to be stooging with some channel or other and only for the short term and in the knowledge that we are against the long term trend and need to be ready to ditch it

I will go with a short soon, but only on that basis

All the fundy stuff that came out as we peaked, can be swept away by the trend as we know - there are just to many fundy factors out there that can emerge and contradict the other stuff

Sometimes the trend has a life of it's own - as in the DOW's rise and rise

GU Daily and Hourly....I might be wrong, but I see the medium bull trend at end of days and back on to the bears.

I am a little rusty though...

The current 4 hour chart gives us a few options to find our next trade. First if we are going to go short, we need to break this current area which was strong resistance on the way up and now has stopped us dead on the way down. If we break the red horizontal trend line, I expect to see a big break short for a few hundred pips. On the other side, if we can't make it through this support then I will look to break the upper trend and we may take another shot at the top. I will not attempt to predict where it is going but I have a plan either way.

Unfortunately, people or my level of competance can't see it until it's happened and been running 6 months...

The UK's majority trading partner is the EU not USA, and they say they are back in positive GDP and that should drag blighty back too. The City of London is independant of the consumer to some extent and works for business and rich guys like...

Overall I want to bring some of my GBP from the UK to the US at a better rate, so going short suits me - if cable goes up I get a better rate for the hard cash tsfr offset by the forex contract loss so its a wash at the contract price - and that has to be ok for me to enter

If cable comes down, I take the forex profit and wait for better rate for the hard cash tsfr. It's self deception but works for me.

Anyway that's why I am more comfortable with a short. 1.6570 looks as good a place as any, so I will put a toe in the water and add to it in the morning pacific time if we are not raging upwards - an uncertain small up won't stop me adding to it as long as it is dithering - especially if the DOW gets the collywobbles
