The TP is based on the multiplication setting and what makes a profit while staying less than 20% for a TP. In this case the TP is about 15% of the EA range. So the formula I use is: total range of EA 90 x 4 levels= 360 x.15= 52 plus 8 for spread = 60. I then find a multiplication that will give me a profit. With the gap of 60 the EA range is really 420 above the median and 420 below the median or 14% plus the spread you need for TP. On almost every currency that means I only need a 20% or less retrace for TP. I think that is a reasonable and doable number. However, with spread widening being common by brokers now, that is doing havoc on my numbers.

here are my trades this week.. slow but still good... I did just add on Wednesday night the aud/cad, aud/chf, and usd/jpy as originally posted by Bob with the 90.. though they had some losers, they are still profitable. I did not have any 2level trades, but the usd/jpy should've been, and I think should still be in 2levels (looks close on my charts), but because I added it later it got me out already.

Very good week as were the past 2.

146 trades for about 2820 pips, net

Very little drawdown,.... seems to work very well on .01 lots.

And do you use time frame from Instruction for the others?

You trade this currencies, do you trade 3 volatiles?


3 auds--aud/nzd, aud/cad, aud/jpy
1chf-- chf/jpy
4 eruos--eur/chf, eur/jpy, eur/cad, eur/usd
1 NZD-- Nzd/USD or you could use NZD/CHF
2 USD-- USD/CHF, USD/JPY
2 volatiles not the same--eur/nzd, gbp/jpy

It is not a real volatile pair but it does have an occasional sudden move. The 5M works best on that move so that why I use it there. Other than that it is not too bad. The Cad currency is one that tends to trend strongly at times and the 5M is good for that kind of currency.

I took a hit on my small account. Not because the EA was bad but because 250 bucks is not enough margin to handle 13 currencies. I took about a 100 dollar loss on that one. I am only going to run two currencies on it this week and quit trying to push my margin so much. Eur/nzd is my choice since it seems to do the most amount of trading.

Here is a pic I put 3000 in and am running dimes .10 lots. Nice week, was comfortable margin all week and had a nice return. The gbp/jpy had a hit but I manually closed that one for a loss. It would have retraced but I decided not to take the chance so I closed one for a loss. Anyway made 554 dollars this week on that account and lost 120 on the other so cleared over 400. Now if I can just do that for the next 4 months I will be a happy man.

I must say the whole idea of buying at lowest low always attracted me, glad you developed the system. I have one objection though, why do you guys trade in both directions? Well, right - company are selling currencies and stuff, but you don't have to be an Einstein to see that most of them are obviousely trending (E/U, G/U for instance). I'm pretty sure if you open only SELLS for those two I mentioned (others as well, just check the daily trends for them) you'd avoid those huge stops which naturally happened. I hope I don't ruin the party or anything.

I am up +35% trading an IBFx mini account with a strating balance of $1,000.00 where the first level is 0.01 cents since the beginning of Feb. I started with the 17 pairs, but have discarded a few pairs and only trade the following pairs: AUDCAD, AUDCHF, AUDJPY, AUDNZD, AUDUSD, CHFJPY, EURCHF, EURGBP, EURJPY, EURUSD, GBPUSD, NZDCHF, NZDJPY, NZDUSD, USDCAD, USDCHF, USDJPY, USDSGD

Keep in mind that the market is perfect for this strategy at this point and will change.

Just wanted to say excellent work here, Bob. I've followed a couple of your other threads/EAs on and off, but it looks like you've really worked out some of the imperfections and have a winner here. I've been demoing this week and my results are below.

I am doing .03 starting lots (IBFX nano, so 3-cents/pip) on a $3000 account. After some more demo'ing, I may raise this slightly to maximize profits - DD was more than acceptable this week.

7 pairs: CHF/JPY, EUR/CHF, EUR/JPY, EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/CHF, USD/JPY - I chose these mostly from other people's experience in this thread, and a quick visual analysis of them for the past several months.

I am running the 4-Level EAs, and don't use recovery EAs at all - my thinking is that level 4 is my recovery, if price goes beyond that and hits the 500-pip SL, that's my acceptable loss.

I opened the EAs (no changes, straight 60x90) just before the US session opened on Monday, and have let them run around the clock all week. I've had one trade go to level 4 (EUR/JPY yesterday), and only a couple go to level 3. My strategy for today (Friday) has been to shut off the EAs and manage the remaining trades manually to find a good spot to be flat for the weekend. I just closed the last of my trades (level 2 USD/JPY) at a small loss to be all out.

Overall for the week, I saw a 2.03% ROI, ($61.67 profit against a starting balance of $3032.60). Very respectable for just a few cents per pip. Details are attached below.

Finally, my (tiny by comparison) contribution to this thread is also attached - an indicator that can be added to the template to show you your current proft/loss for the pair on the chart you're viewing. Handy for me today, when I wanted to find a good place to manually get out of a level-2 trade and had others still open. Just look up to the top-right corner of my screen to see where I am on just this pair without having to do any quick calculations.

Anyway - thanks again for your hard work on this strategy. I plan to demo for another few weeks, tweak some money management (lot sizes), and go live with a small account if things keep going in this direction.

Here is this week's report of mine. Unfortunately, my pc locked up last night and I had to reboot, which lost my tracking of max open loss and max margin used. I'll have to wait until next week to track that again to see if this could have been run on an even smaller account size (pretty sure it could have).
I continue to be very impressed with this system, thanks Bob!

I am testing on IBFx and no problems. Make sure you are creating your account using Demo Account 2.

hee hee ha ha.. my testing of the charts and numbers is letting the ea work all the time.. no closing on weekend, friday, etc.. so let's see how these new numbers of mine work out over the weekend. Who would've thunk the stupid currencies would go wild this afternoon... I am in a level 3 on usd/chf and yes it will be kept over the weekend.. but heck this one is 120 pips from center on 5m. Maybe it won't work.. maybe it is too risky, but I'm doing it anyway. lol

How do you know the pair will keep trending, and won't reverse immediately, or in short while, the 60 PIPS?

an EA that works sora like the 100*80 but only has 3 levels and if it passes those it transforms into trend following.
basicly at level 4 its set for retractment or trend. if it retracts its a small win if it trends it can grow really big. i think it can be programed fairly easlly too
i'm working on easing my spread sheet so you can read it. right now its huge i mean really over the top gigantic.

i have a Programing Question.
can each trade have its own set price and not use a multiplyer.
my set up would not be just every x amount of movement....

ok what i'm trying to build is a set up were it reverses but if it gets to level 4 than it stacks the price per pip so if it reverses it closes with a profit and if it trends the open amount of trades and price per pip are stacked on the in trend side. that way it just runs the gain on the trend side out running the counter trend trades.

basicly when we get to level 4 up or down i want it to win. my hardest part is setting up different sizes. there is no multiplyer. its manual. and i think it might have to be larger start. .02 does not have the varences i think i would need but its a start.
