yes, sorry i have been away for a while cuz im a little busy with work, basketball, and other things. There are huge differences between people. Some people perceive reality holistically and rely on their intuition and are successfull, some have analytical minds and have to translate everything to objective bits of data and are successful. As far as your intuition is based upon internalization of your past learning/experience, and as far as you are successful, and as far as you use proper money management to cope with possibility that your intuition stops serving you right - great for you!
I know that I can't trust my intuition. This is true regarding my life in general and forex trading specifically. This is, probably, why I work as a researcher, and not a bad one. This is why I spend months backtesting, so that I'll ***know*** exactly what to do in any situation. Someone else would go nuts doing this - but it works well for me and I even enjoy it...
So, I guess the key to success is to be aware of one's psychological style - and adjust our trading methods accordingly. Good luck!
Instinct, intuition, gut, whatever you want to call it's that intangible part of the trader's brain. Charts, indicators, EAs, systems and methodologies, even fundamental analysis are all based on measurements of data. These measurements hold alot of trading energy in them if used correctly.
There is, I have found, another trading energy which is the trader's gut. This is much harder to measure, but when it's right, it's right on. I have seen it happen many times in my trading. Of course, when it's wrong you'll know it pretty quickly.
So how to you know when to trust the gut? Well, you have to approach the gut part of trading the same way that you approach TA or eco data, etc. There have to be rules for how you use the data, when you will trust it and when you won't. Measure your gut.
I call it GUTc which stands for
G gauge
U your
T trading
c confidence level
Before I enter a trade I not only verify that it's a good entry with TA or Fundie data. I also check my GUTc. I actually gauge my confidence level about the trade I am about to enter based on a 4 point scale. I ask myself at what confidence level do I feel about this trade. If I can't honestly get anything higher than 1 or 2 then I stay out and wait for the next set up.
1 pure gamble (stay out) 2 not enough info (stay out) 3 conditions on favorable (maybe, get more info) 4 almost a sure thing (trade, but with caution)
Notice that more than half the time I may be telling myself NO to trading. Why? Because it's easier to lose money in forex than make it.
Remember, that no gut instinct is right 100% of the time. Learn to measure your gut feelings.
i dont know how to describe this but lately i have been able to just trade "on instinct" or kind of get a feel of the market and trade, and have been so far successful i doubled my account and am still doing well. is this normal? i mean i do look at indicators and all but i dont use a mechanical system nor do i look at news, just pure instinct. i dont feel as bad for losses any more i usually just ignore them and winning doesnt make me happy either it feels like a game to me but i dont know has anyone gone or is going through what i am now?? its...

How many accuracy do you have during that time?
How many pips did you make (Average pips) running that time?
Are you sleeping in the recommended hours?
How many of days month years you predict the market directions in a row?
When you invest during that times do you forget (memory)your investments in a short time in the future (date, number of pips taken, patterns)
If yes, if you feel emotions during that times? (not matter if no, place answer)
Did you predict the future in your general life (Go to work, eat go to places)
How many of experience do you have?
Do you spend much time watching naked (practically) charts?
Using Instinct is good, but to rely totally on it is not at all good idea. You also need to use the proper market analysis and various other skills to be successful in Forex Trading.
