Ok it's not the amount money you lose it's the amount you win. Having tried many methods to make money on these markets, what I have found works is to not close your winning trades!
Let the market close you out. Having used a break out strategy with some degree of sucess, if the trade is plus then I move my stop down when in profit and leave it. Usually, the sucess rate is about 8 out of 12, some days though all trades can fail, when they do I lose.
Winning trades make up for it though, because they score 150-300 pips, so thats where you win.
You can trade many ways to make money, the less pips you go for the higher the chance of sucess, people that set 3:1 risk reward trades are just estimating, no one knows where the market is going, so its all probability.
Game theory and books on gambling probability are very helpful in trading, get an edge and work it, all you need is 51%.
