Imran, I see on some charts posted that the macd are 12,20,9 - is this what we are using or are we using the traditional 12,26,9. thanks

I think I have all the Ehler's Indicators. But I have not checked them all. Here is the mq4 file for this (this 6 line code has nearly 100 lines in mq4!). You can check and let us know if it is useful.

Using my LaguerreMTF program, you can plot 5M Lags on 1M chart (along with 1M Lags). Then you can check them all in one place.
You cannot plot the lower TF indies on a higher TF chart (no 1M Lag on a 5M chart). But you can have two or more charts with any TF in one page.You have to make them smaller to leave space for others.

This does same work as Lag with gamma 0.60 setting. I have highlighted the entries for long and short as per the authors on the website, seems decent stuff but need to be careful when price is ranging.

I am no expert in indicators and in their values. Right now, I am expert in learning forex trading . All I was saying that once EA is available then we can run optimization cases to figure out best combination

I must admit I have tried your Lag3 ASC1 back in late Nov I think it was.

Only having just a bare grasp on Imrans technique back then, I couldn't see the benifit of what you have programmed. But now after watching the charts up until now, I can appreciate what you have done.

The stepped (jaggered) look of the 5M lag, Is that normal? A consequence of viewing it on a lower timeframe?

Hi Imran,
Thanks for the video ... it was a helpful one .. i love the 2nd video .. i watch it everyday in the morning so i refresh myself with it ... and then start my day in the forex !! Helps me focus myself on your Method and not something else !

A momentum 1 or 2 of the IFT might have a good chance,too.
Signal = zero line.

How about testing it??
Would love to see the result

BTW: how does IFT perform intra day - short term??

Hi Damo,

The stepped look is correct. If any MTF is showing without that look, it is simply wrong. Since 5M bars are made by five 1M bars, each set of five 1M bars should have the same value for any 5M indi....

I know getting out of a trade is a individuals decision...
Here is a template I have been playing with to exit a trade.

I would appreciate any constructive assistance from experienced traders. I have yet to trade the Imran method outside a demo account.


1. Determine amount of mini lots to trade within acceptable risk.

2. Place entry trade.

3. Immediately set stop 30 pips.

4. Immediately place limit close order for 1/3 of total lots opened at next '00 or '50. (my preferable method).

5. If limit order is executed :

  1. Place new limit close on second 1/3.
  2. Amend stop 2/3 to B.E.

6. If next '00 or '50 limit order is executed,

  1. Run with remaining 1/3 till Red Lag turns.
  2. Amend stop 1/3 to 50 pip before last limit close.
  3. Continue adjusting stop each '00 or '50 till Red Lag turns

Do all of you guys still use the same method as posted in post #1? Or did u change some stuff? I can code the method if u like, at least I will try to.

This is my first post on this thread.

Many thanks to Imran for sharing his system on this thread. It takes a man with a large heart to do this. You can only get greater by giving out freely!

Many thanks to all the contibutors to this thread. Its a whole lot of effort and sacrifice to put up these posts especially those with detailed analysis. I salute everyone in this regards. The simple one line replies are also appreciated. I have learnt a whole lot just going through the thread. Many thanks!

I have spent some time (last 2 weeks) going through the thread and studying the system with historiacal data to confirm the things to look out for before entrying a trade ane when to exit a trade.

I have realized that there are other little (but BIG as they can save you from entying a bad trade) things here and there to look out (apart from the basic rules in the PDF) for most of which has been covered in the discussions within the thread.

I STRONGLY believe it is a system that works if you understand the basic rules and take note of the other things already mentioned on the thread. Most importantly the REWARD to RISK ratio seems high especially as it works quite well with the volatile yen pairs (GY especially).

I look forward to making a good success using this strategy. Having read some of the OUTSTANDING successes achieved by people using this system (even if modified) I know for sure that I would recording mine in the weeks to come. I believe this will come with a lot of continued study of the system and taking advantage of the insight of those who have mastered it. I do not plan to reinvent the wheel in this sense.

I look forward to a great future of sharing with you all on this thread.
