My personal-noobie advice would be to take what you got for now, since were in a wedge, and unsure of what might happen. If down later, can always re-enter for more pips.

seems like if we get a signal it looks like a good long to me on the 15m chart. Momentum is crossing up QQE is crossing and already over the Gann. Thoughts?

I think the market is going to stay between 237.2 and 238.2 until the UK retail news.

Agree here too. Just checked the Japanese treasuries is very bearish. I closed my shorts earlier at a loss @247.47. Seems thinking to go long :-)
This pair was very resilient in US session, bet Asian session would be weary to sell it off.

Interesting factors but I think I shall abstain from any long moves in the next hour or two. This divergence on this 1H MACD is signalling to me the latest bull run may have run out of steam, plus those all important MA's hovering above suggest to me that it won't get too far if it does go up. Think I'll sit this one out.

Actually it is the opposite. A rising stock market drives down the value of the yen.

Remember, a lot of the carry trade is people borrowing yen at low interest rates, converting to a foreign currency and then investing in the stock market. Therefore, when stock markets are rising, the yen is weakening, since people are borrowing yen (creating yen out of thin air) and then dumping them into the currency exchange market, driving down the value of the yen.

The carry trade goes in reverse when markets are going down. The yen is strengthening, so people have to buy yen to pay back loans before they get killed by the currency fluctuations. The money they are using to buy yen is coming out of the stock market.

Obviously, people don't have to convert yen to invest in the japanese market. Even so, the same principle is effect. A rising market weakens the yen. However, since the currency conversion step is missing, the correlation is not as clear-cut as it is with the US market.

It is there, however. See for yourself.

I would expect this wedge to be broken in the next 4 hour candle in 20 mins. But I am not experenced enough to deterimine the direction it will go. (sorry this is my first chart post. Not sure if it will work)

There is nothing driving the market right now, so the market isn't doing anything. The japanese stock market just reopened after their noon break, and the Nikkei has dropped a little from its earlier high. We might get a drop down to test the 237.2 area that was hit right before the Nikkei opened today. If we do, I don't expect it to go below that level.

If that doesn't happen, I doubt we will see any significant movement before the UK retail sales data.
