I'm having stuffed poblano peppers, which I grew, with homemade salsa (all home-grown ingredients) and store-bought sour cream (haven't figured out how to grow a cow on my postage stamp-sized lot yet). Chocolate decadence cake for dessert (ahh, can I just skip dinner and have double the dessert?)

Tell me about it. He just popped in here, took a disgusted look at us and the charts and announced "back to bed" .... then *BAM* 50 pips dropped out of nowhere. I got a sub from Marios, which is a 57-year old place in Arlington, family owned, good stuff. And for desert, ice cream from a dairy bar. Not quite the homegrown diet, but what can I do, I'm a working (or rather studyin) man. Graduate degrees and cooking don't mix. No time *sniff*.

Lol, yeah, paying a mortgage in California and buying food (or anything) don't mix either, hence the homegrowin' - you didn't think we were doing it for our health now, did you?

What are you studying for?

ps: that was a nice drop we just had - maybe our 'sleeping' magic is extending to 'having dinner', too?

Wall Street firms have many divisions. This was the fixed income side. Not the analysts or brokerage end of things. And then there is M&A and of course trading. But whenever whichever division gets it wrong, they do it big time.

So what was the guy in charge of exactly? If he was in charge of bonds then he, like the rest, was still a speculator. And yep, they usually go down hard, no romance involved. I read once about the guy who shorted tech stocks at the beginning of the internet boom. He had to hide in Australia or something, poor schmuck

I was actually, homegrowing is good for many things In fact, I help my landlord grow all sorts of stuff in the back yard - we are in the "suburbs" near DC.

And I'm studying computer science, masters currently, hopefully go on all the way to a Ph.D if I can keep my scholarships. Which reminds me:

Ahhh the good ol' grad school. I never ate as well as when I was in grad school - I'm naturally really thin, and people usually want to feed me anyway, but when I was in grad school, I had people bringing me homemade meals 'just in case I'm too busy to cook', I had people feeding me everywhere I went, it was just awesome, and I'm not proud of it, but I milked it for all it was worth (I did make it up to them later, of course). It wasn't even about the $$$, it was that I didn't have to worry about food at all - shopping, cooking, nothing - it was just there for me whenever I wanted it :

Of course, a few friends did eventually catch on to the fact that I can eat twice my body weight and not gain an ounce, so the meal gravy train effectively stopped. But, by then I was pretty much done with grad school, plus, I always loved making new friends
