Yup you're right of course - I wasn't patient enough to wait for the end of the daily bar and I paid for it big time. Elimentary mistake.

You're OK with your USDCAD - these two remaining trades will be the last of this week. I'll wait to see what Sunday & Monday brings.

EURGBP short stopped out as expected for minus 48 pips.

USDCHF long currently +35 so s/l moved to +10 for now.

September total +32 pips lol

LOL guys

So we're all sailing the same ship - hmmmm hehe

Well, just got back to the PC after braving the cool morning to help my son on his paper round. I see all positions currently green and around 75 pips up.

The AUDJPY hit 95.00 whilst I was sleeping (typical lol) but I'm going to trade these slightly different to how I have recently.

I could of course move the s/l to plus 10 at this stage guaranteeing 30 pips but I'm just going to be patient and let the daily bars determine whether to get out or move s/l.

I was reading a post from SeekingLight and I think we are of the same or similar mind. Yes, I'm profitable but in many cases I'm getting out of a trade too soon - a lot of my +10 s/l have been hit only for the price to then move a couple of hundred. I may take a few more losses this way but lets see - its all about experimentation and finding my own way of doing things.

Looking back on my original method, the big drawback was being in the market all the time. By taking clear(ish) reversal signals like the pin bars etc and just letting the trade go until the market tells me otherwise could be a good combination of what I've learned so far.

Just putting my thoughts down in words...

Well, as I left for work this morning I was up about 160 pips over the three trades. Just got in & find two positions closed for a loss of 151 pips & the third minus 90. Let's just say I'm a little pissed off.

Of course I could have placed stop losses at +10 before I left and have had 30 pips banked but no, as per previous post was looking to be patient and look a little longer term.

I think I'll sign off as 'Clueless of Cookham'

Have to check back but since that 1KT badge was bestowed upon me, well, you know what I'm gonna say - sheesh.

Well, all I can say is you're not alone. JPY selling /USD buying came out of the blue, and even though I slept only 4 hours I still got cut off pretty hard. Let's see if we can make it back (and maybe some more) before the end of the week.

these set up are similar..What did you see in this trade to make you take them..I see resistance in the beginning of 07' on all three..I don't see anything very remarkable, maybe consolidation, jyp to open, a move brewing?

What am I missing?

Yeah, I saw your journal post - sorry bro. I don't know if I'll put on any more trades this week - see if my head is right lol.

These were the very trades to bring that stop loss into profit whilst I was so far in profit but hey, what do I know? Bugger all it seems sometimes lol

I guess it's how you look at it - I could've closed them all this morning and banked 160+ pips and given myself a big pat on the back. Of course if I had they would have continued spiralling downwards but that's what makes this so very frustrating at times.

Hi Steve,

It happens to all of us, you're not alone. I always move my SL into profit once the trade goes my way about 50 pips or so (GJ pair) and then let it run. I personally get annoyed seeing a winner trade turn into a loser, it makes me mad and I feel you. Calm down and look for the next opportunity

LOL, just posted in your journal hehe. Well done by the way - fantastic month!

Yup, I've been doing that too bro and time after time the s/l gets hit and then price goes boom for hundreds of pips. So, these three trades I thought I'd give a little more room to breathe. I go through these phases of experimenting just to get a different angle on things and occasionally the market bites you in the bum lol.

Mh? What about that "badge"?

I'm afraid it's my fault, I tend to do this to trades when I'm in them as well

But I guess the weekly BUOBs on AUD and NZD took precedence over the daily BEOB or something...I still believe it was worth a shot to be in those trades. So yea, the first fakeout down turned out to pin on a small TF on EJ and then rose, how could WE know ahead of time

But still, gotta keep going, gotta keep grinding...curious to see where all this will lead *g*

Who knows, there might be a bearish GBPUSD retracement pin around the corner or a EURUSD one or or or...

This is the dilemma I outlined over in the J16 thread.

We don't KNOW ahead of time.

So we have to choose which approach we declare as ours. We can't pick one and then complain not 100% of all attempts go perfect, jump back to the other, complain we bank 160 and miss 600, jump back, complain about +0, etc

You know what I mean and I'm facing the same dilemma

But gotta keep moving on, moving on..
