Earnings Trades

I'm intrigued by your calendar spread strategy, particularly your focus on elevated implied volatility (IV) in the earnings week and targeting small debit spreads. I'm still learning about options trading, and your insights on expiration timelines and debit size are valuable.

I prefer the earnings calendars compared to some of the other strategies above. Pretty reliable if you get in cheap, usually can be done if you enter a few weeks b4 the ER. I don't often lose money on them. The GOOGL double calendar above is an example of one that didn't work very well, and I still broke even on it...

all my earnings directional assumptions were right, but not right enough. META blew past my fly and I closed for near full loss; AMZN I made small profit; AAPL I might make some money if it drops thru the day; etc etc

these trades all 1 or 2 lot, just entertainment more or less....

NVDA reports ah tomorrow, a super mega bfd. I will shop some cheap fly lotto tix.

bot Feb23 call flys, 750/760/770 and 785/800/815, for 30c each....

$100 range seems pretty mild, there was heavy options volume all the way to the end of the chain @ $1300. After 2 day slide I thought NVDA would rally back on the ER to about where it traded to start the week. Maybe surpass that a little. I have some flys 750/760/770 so would like to see >$750 by Friday.

NVDA @ $750 going into the open. Will be watching, may hold til Friday if price is kinda stable.

AFTER being down a ton already, I'd look for TSLA to beat & bounce. With fat iv's, cheap flys could pay uuge with a lucky Friday pin. Ex move $15 but I'd bet it'll be more, either way....

NVDA ER is 8/28....flys are cheap on the increased iv's of the earnings week options....risk $230 to make >$4,500 max
